http://11%20lures%20for%20one%20penny

Congratulations! The fact that you’re seeing this page means that you’ve locked in the best deal known to man for getting great lures at a crazy low price.

The lessons below have been made to help you maximize your results when using the lures you ordered.

Here’s what lessons you’ll see:

  1. Depth Control & Rigging [Most Important]
  2. Choosing between jerk shad or paddletail
  3. How to retrieve jerk shad lures
  4. How to retrieve paddletail lures
  5. Color selection 101
  6. How To Fix Bent Soft Plastic Lures

1. Depth Control & Rigging

The first lesson in this series is on depth control and rigging because of how important it is for these aspects to be performed properly.

If either is off base, the odds of catching fish dramatically goes down even if you have selected the perfect size and color of your lure and make the absolute perfect retrieve.

Conversely, if the rigging and depth control is done properly, the odds of out-fishing everyone else on the boat or pier skyrockets.

Note:s For each of the lures in the chart, the green section indicates the optimal scenario for using that lure. Yellow indicates that it still works but is not used best in that particular scenario.

2. Jerk Shad vs. Paddletail

The type of lure you use is an important decision point as well. Here’s a quick video that explains when it’s important to use one over the other.

3. How To Retrieve Jerk Shad Lures

The retrieve for soft plastic jerk shads is very important for generative strikes. In this lesson, you’ll see the most popular retrieve style for jerk shads along with some other styles you can use based on the conditions.

4. How To Retrieve Paddletail Lures

Paddletails are the most popular of all soft plastic lures because they are the most versatile in both the amount of conditions they work in as well as the variety of retrieves that can generate strikes.

See the top retrieve styles for paddletails in the lesson below:

5. Color Selection 101

Color selection is another important factor to get right in order to consistently catch fish throughout all seasons. See the video below on which color has been proving to be the best all-purpose color as well as when to go brighter or darker:

6. How To Fix Bent Soft Plastics

No matter how well soft plastics are packed in baggies or in tackle boxes, we will always face some instances in which the lures get bent out of shape. I used to think that these bent lures were trash, but then I found this super simple and quick way to fix them:

Conclusion

When used properly, these soft plastic lures can out-fish all other lures because they are so versatile and effective. All that’s needed is to learn how to rig and retrieve these lures while understanding the size and type (jerk vs. paddle) to select based on the conditions.

If you have any questions about anything related to these lures, please do not hesitate to ask using the Comment section below… I’ll be happy to add future videos to this page as needed.

When rigging a jig head with some soft plastics that have a cut split back you suggested having that opposite the jig when starting to rig.
I have two questions about that split. First, what is the purpose of this?
Secondly, when rigging a helix weighed hook does the split end up next to the hook shank or on the outside?

When i’m fishing any of these soft plastic lures, If I am using braided line do I tie my mainline directly on the jig head or weighted hook? or do I need a leader line?

I am new to saltwater fishing and really learning a lot. Thank you so much for all the great info. You guys are awesome. Live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and don’t have a boat but still get a lot from all the info and finding new places I can fish.

I agree with Mark and John, I’m turning 65 and retired and never done any saltwater fishing as well. I had just started doing some freshwater fishing when I came across Salt strong, so I decided to join your insider club. Glad I did, I’ve been watching all the tutorials. I have purchased Wyatts bundle as well as picking up a couple of other bundles also just received the 11lures.

You guys are doing an awesome job.
Thanks!
Rick

Well I received my 11 lures very happy very attractive colors can’t wait to try them.will these work bank fishing on the surf near rocks? And what weight should I use for each lure? Most of the time there’s high tide here in Galveston texas so I don’t know how I would go about adjusting weight around 5+- feet

Great video, very informative. What knot do you recommend tying the lures with, loop knot or a uni? And do you recommend using a swivel from the braid to the leader?

It would be nice to post the depth chart with the description of the lures in the store. I am looking to fish in a channel that is deeper in the middle, but wasn’t aware of the best lures for deeper water until after choosing my lures. Can’t wait to try these.

How can I know the water depth when it is deeper that just a foot or two and water is not clear? I don’t have a boat or kayak to go and drop a depth line.
