But after testing shrimp profiles side-by-side against my go-to baits, I realized something: The shrimp was consistently catching bigger fish AND outfishing live bait in situations where I didn’t think it was possible.

Question-when using the weedless football and round eye jigheads are you using a snug knot?
There’s so much movement already with the weight I would think a loop knot might create too much disconnection from the bait to Line feel.
Curious your thoughts?
I always use a loop knot when using jigs for 2 reasons:
1) To give the lure natural motion in the water free from constriction from the line (I rig the soft plastic all the way to the jighead so it forms a single lure without a pivoting head)
2) To create a weak point that’s right next to the lure to make sure I get my leader back whenever the lure gets snagged on the bottom.
I live in Michigan and salmon season is around corner. Gonna be testing the Prawn with some shrimp scent when I hit the water. I will definitely comment on how this works out

Great program. These in natural are my go to in Galveston and Matagorda bays.. My PB red came on the standard prawn under a cork of all things in Christmas Bay. My PB flounder was caught on the standard size on a football head at the Jetty Park in Surfside. Trout love the Jr. everywhere I’ve tried it even in the surf.

Closest prawn bait either size that looks as natural as they come …. One can also use permanent black marker to color both eyes to make them look even more life like ….. There isn’t much that doesn’t eat prawns/shrimps… Thanks guys

Well even though I do own both the prawns large and small i still favor my chadebaits flick prawn and I know you Luke you say that shrimp lures that have appendages dont skip well under docks because they slow it down but I have found the chase baits flick prawn does a great job skipping under docks the only thing that I have really found that the prawn is better at then the chasebaits is its better for deeper water because the chasebaits is prerigged with a three sixteenths ounce weighted worm hook plus its made with the pvc plastic instead of the common plastisol that most plastic baits are made with and with that type of plastic the chasebaits sinks at a much slower rate where the saltstrong prawn baits sink much faster making them better for deep water applications but if im fishing shallower then about 8 ft then I choose the chadebaits I also like to throw it into creekmouths on an out going tide where a slower sinking bait for me at least seems to work better but like I said I do own the saltstrong prawns and use them but only for deeper water docks or other Deepwater areas but thats me everyone has a preference and we all fish different just saying thanks for the info and all you do
