When fishing deeper water inshore, rigging tactics can be a bit different than in the shallows.
The type of hooks, weight, equipment, and even your line can play a role in getting the right lure presentation.
In this video I will be going over the best ways to rig soft plastics for deep water situations (4ft or deeper) and some other factors to consider.
Enjoy!

Great presentation, underwater video really showd how lures preform
Thank you for the great feedback Robert!
Great info. Thanks

I am going for red snapper and Mangro Snapper in July for a 44hr trip. I want to try fishing with a power prawn pon the bottom. I saw the video with Luke killing them. what is the setup for this trial?
Here is a breakdown of what Luke was using on that trip:
Thanks for the tips , you suggested on having a 1 ounce and 2 ounce rating for heavy current . The rod lure rating is up to 1 oz so wouldn’t the 1.5 to two once weight break the rod tip?
Not necessarily. You just can’t cast like you would with a lighter weight. Have to do more of a “lob” cast than a snappy one. I would recommend a rod with a heavier rating though to work the lure properly.
As always Maestro thank you for the instructions.
You’re welcome Angel!
Great refresher Tony, thanks
