How A Drone Could Revolutionize Everything You Know About Surf Fishing.

A problem that has plagued surf fishing anglers for generations is how to get your bait out to the perfect spot (in most cases, how to get your bait out further…)
Depending on where you are fishing, this could mean getting it an extra 100 yards past a sandbar, 50 yards past rocky structure, or even a few hundred yards to where the big fish roam.
Surf anglers have tried everything from kayaks, potato guns, paddleboards, wave runners, kontikis, and many more to help them get their baits out to the desired honey hole.
But have you ever thought about using a drone to take your bait out?
Well, wait until you see how this angler from Texas is using his drone to take his baits out anywhere from 200 – 500 yards out past the surf!
Here are the notes from the owner of the drone on how he drops the bait with his drone:
“I made a bracket to release baits upon tilt. I get about 6 baits dropped out at 300 yds before I pop another battery on.”
So it sounds like he harnessed a small bracket on the drone that simply holds the line in place (without being clamped down), and when he moves the tilt on his controller the line easily slips off into the water below.
Pretty cool!

I love fly fishing.
I saw someone fishing the Atlantic Ocean at Moriches Inlet off of Long Island for striped bass with a drone- and caught keepers (28+ inches) almost every time. Very few others were catching anything that day., and most were shorts. I’m losing the ability to cast (disabled) & am long past the ability to go out on the rock jetty, so this would be great for me & others like me. Great idea.
that’s not fishing . that’s taking the fun out of casting to get to the right spot . beside’s that your going to need an awful big
reel to hold that much line .And in CA you can only have 2 lines in the water. I’m sure he has 6 rods out.So if you belive this
your an idoit
a little bitter today?
casting is not fun unless you think fun is throwing rocks in the water, the fun is catching fish, good idea for the smart people that don’t live in CA
What’s there not to believe about this? It’s a very clever idea? So big deal, you need a larger spool/reel. Can’t use 6 rods in your state? Well, then use whatever the legal amount is. I see no idiocy here.
Lmao!! And hes calling people idiots? Bwahahaha😂😂 Must be a catfish specialist😂😂
casting is fun?
I have thought of doing this, can you tell me what kind of drone he is using?
Hey Sheryl, the drone is a normal DJI Phantom, but he made a special harness to hold (and drop) fishing line.
A thousand thank you’s – I have been thinking about this too. I am disabled and cant cast but love fishing here in Florida. ( and greatly amused by the KMB comment… grammar and misspelling idiot got us laughing).
