I have all the above and wade fishing seems to be the best since I can get to the shallows

I am a member of Salt Strong, I own a boat, and I also bought a kayak to get into the skinny water. On top of that, I still have no issue going land based and walking around from spot to spot. All of these different ways of fishing have their own benefits. I was skeptical about joining salt strong, but after having joined (6 months ago), I found it is absolutely a game changer! I have broken my PB red fish record 3 times within the last 3 weeks alone. Best being 34 1/2”. If you join, go through all the classes, join your local club (virtual or even in person) so you can see what’s happening in your specific area and network in the community. If you do all of these things, you will definitely catch fish!

Only area in the Daytona Beach area I’ve spotted that’s wade-able is on the canaveral national seashore. $25 to get in is steep. Would love to see y’all come over here and highlight some areas in a video

Great information! I’m visiting the the Jacksonville beach area in August and will be in a “fishing from shore” situation. I’ll be looking for tips the close the trip gets so thanks for the video!

if you don’t have a boat or kayak, shore fishing is an option but recognize that high density areas have far fewer open areas to fish than sparsely populated locations. As for boaters and kayakers wishing to fish by wading, simply get to your shallow water spot and then hop out. Problem solved!

Is there any special gear needed for wading?

Wading boots are a must. Promate diving boots is what is use for the warmer months. A rod or 2 and a way to carry tackle and water.

NLBN- No Loaded Boat Needed!

Great info, even if I know you are biased against boats, lol.

Pat, this was very good info. Hope the newbies adopt these strategies. The angler who took 2nd place in my fishing clubs annual season long tournament caught 75% of his fish from shore. You really don’t need a boat.😃
