Summer is a great time to fish, but the bite window can be pretty small – which is why you should spend more time fishing, and less time deciding which lures to throw!
In this video I am going to break down my top 3 favorite lures to throw in the summer, along with the best type of rigging.
Enjoy!

1x 7-pack Mulligan’s

If you’re a live bait angler who is curious to start using lures, then make sure to give them a shot now because they will often out-catch live bait, assuming you use the selection strategies that are explained in this lesson.

Recommended Rod, Reel, & Line
There of course, are thousands of rods, reels, and lines to select from. In general, we recommend using medium power rods with as light of line as you feel comfortable with for handling your target species.
Since these lures have various weights, we recommend using spinning tackle to make it very easy to go from one lure to the other. Medium power rods with a fast action blank that’s 7′ to 7’6″ work great with these lures. And pairing your rod of choice with a 2500 size reel and 10 lb braid is tough to beat.
Having success in catching quality fish on lures requires a good rod, reel, and line setup. The most important of the 3 by far is the rod when using lures. This is because the rod controls the most important factors, such as casting distance, retrieving the lures, feeling strikes, setting the hook, and controlling the fish during the battle.
