If I Could Only Bring 4 Lures This Summer, These Would Be Them

Summer fishing can be incredible… but it can also make you overthink things.

It’s easy to start carrying way more tackle than you actually need.

But after years of fishing through the summer, I’ve found that most situations can be handled with just a handful of lures.

In this video, I’ll show you the four lures I rely on most during the summer and explain when, where, and how I use each one to catch redfish, snook, trout, and flounder.

The Ultimate Summer Bundle featured in this video is part of our limited-time Summer Slam Savings Event, along with other great deals! Check them all out here.

Featured Gear:

What’s Inside (And Why It Works)

We broke this bundle down by fish aggressiveness, so you know exactly what to throw and when.

When Fish Are Fired Up (Early Morning or Evening):

  • Moonwalker (Topwater Plug)

    • Explosive strikes. Easy walk-the-dog motion. Casts a mile. Best during low light or calm nights when fish move shallow and feed aggressively. Bonus: Inline hooks glide better and foul less.

  • Skinny Lipper (Subsurface Plug)

    • When they won’t quite hit the top, this is the next best thing. With its weight transfer system, it casts even farther than the Moonwalker. Think of it as the “bite extender” after your topwater window ends.

When Fish Are Sluggish:

  • Mulligan (4” Paddletail)

    • Designed to mimic baitfish when they’re pushed into the shallows or tucked under structure. Features dimples for longer casts and easy skipping under mangroves or docks. Best rigged weedless on the Hoss Helix Hook for shallow or the Hoss Weedless Round Eye Jighead for deeper water.

  • Prawn USA Jr. (3.5” Shrimp Lure)

    • When shrimp are flushing and fish are pinned tight to bottom structure, this is the go-to. Amazing glide, lifelike design, and ultra-weedless rigging for bouncing off oysters, pilings, and more. It’s also caught triple tail and even cobia… not bad for a shrimp imitation!

Rigging

We included two weedless rigging options in this bundle:

And both the Mulligan and Prawn Jr. are compatible with either one, making this a super flexible setup whether you’re fishing creeks, docks, oyster bars, or open flats.

Well Luke because I mostly fish at night in the hot months of the year here in northeast florida my choices are much different then yours but my 4 would be topwater, small 1.5 inch mini chasebaits flickprawn for docks at night when the reds and trout are busting and scattering small shrimp under the docklights then a small subsurface bait like the flea flicker or a small minnow plug for docks also at night and if the plug is not working a small paddletail or curly tail grub like the 2.0 or even smaller to resemble the very small minnows seen in the lights and finally in the few hours im out in the heat after fishing all night to about 10 maybe 11am at the latest my trusted zman gold bladed quarter ounce safety pin style spinnerbait with a stinky gulp usually 4 inch padfletail sometimes a swimming mullet swimming mullet colors of chartruse pepper neon which is white and chartruse with black specks or for the 4 inch paddletail the morning glory color which is black with red flakes and a chartruse tail and in the murky water where I fish it usually gets bit in no time works for me thanks for your input and all you do😉👍
