Cameron Kirkconnell (aka “Spearfishing World Champion”) Interview
By: Joseph Simonds on March 12, 2015
Cameron Kirkconnell grew up with a snorkel in his mouth…
Before his family moved to Florida, they came from the Cayman Islands where they did everything from spearing, diving, lobstering, fishing, and being one with the water.
And Cameron is a ship captain, a master mariner, 13 time spearfishing world record holder, and he is capable of spearing fish larger than 99% of the world will never catch on a rod and reel…
And if you ever want to catch a dogtooth tuna (or any trophy sport fish), then Cameron Kirkconnell is your man.
In fact, he was heading off to Africa the day after this interview for a 10 day spearfishing excursion with some clients to catch monster dogtooth tuna.
We even heard that Maxim is about to do a feature on him and his epic spearfishing adventures, so this guy is on fire!
Finally, even though he isn’t technically the spearfishing “World Champion”, he certainly is in the eyes of Salt Strong.
