Note: To make sure you are ready to catch redfish, seatrout, snook, and flounder on every trip without having to worry about live bait, make sure to get the Ultimate Inshore Tackle Bundle because it gives you the needed lures and lessons to get consistent fish catching results.

I was on vacation at Alligator Point with ONE rod and just a few lures on me.

With the help of Smart Fishing Spots, I was able to hook into fish in less than 10 minutes.

I used the oyster bar feature to uncover oysters near me which is the first spot I fished.

Oyster bars are the perfect way to start out and fish a new area.

Fish often use them as cover and protection to ambush unsuspecting bait.

Sure enough, there were fish right next to the oyster bar that Smart Fishing Spots showed me.

In the middle of the trip, I felt light taps on my lure which indicated there were flounder around to me.

So I threw a jighead on my line instead of a rigging hook to keep my presentations down low.

Our Hoss Helix Hooks are best for fishing the shallows and thinner bodies of water.

Hoss Football Jigheads are the ticket to fishing in deeper water.

And we just designed Hoss Weedless Football Jigheads to fish up close to an invasive structure without worrying about snags.

Conclusion

Overall, this was a successful trip and it’s all thanks to the information from Smart Fishing Spots.

It just goes to show that satellite maps and knowing where oyster bars are is one way to catch fish in a new area.

Smart Fishing Spots has transformed the way I fish in a new area.

Hi Luke, thanks for the entertaining and informative video. I’m going to be in the Port Richey area soon and since it is not far from Tampa, I was wondering what the fishing is like in early December? I’ll be on my SUP (gulf, river, and Miller Bayou) but may also wade the shore and perhaps rent a boat. I have a full assortment of Salt Strong paddle tails and hooks. I’ll also be doing some fly fishing.

That area is excellent in the winter months because lot of fish will push up into the bays/creeks making them very accessible by paddleboard and/or wade fishing.

Plus, the water should be pretty clear making for some fun fly fishing opportunities.

That’s Saltstrong.
