Why MORE MONEY Isn’t The Answer (Unless This Happens…)

Money money money!!!

We all want more money, right?

For years, I went through life falsely believing that “more money” would solve all of my problems…

I just assumed that life would magically become easier and simpler when I had more money…

But I quickly found out that Notorious B.I.G was right about the whole “More money, more problems” dilemma…

Truth is, this quote from Tony Robbins is what really happens…

Money can’t change who we are… all it does is MAGNIFY our true nature…

Meaning, if you are depressed and horrible about saving money today, all money will do is MAGNIFY that.

If you blow a big portion of your money on booze and toys you really don’t need, all money will do is MAGNIFY that.

On the other hand, if you are generous with your money, and you’ve been working on putting away some money into savings now, money will MAGNIFY that.

Proof of this can be seen in lottery winners (70% of all big lottery winners go completely broke within a few years, and ironically, 70% of big lottery winners were NOT SAVING any money or being generous with their money to charities prior to winning the lottery…)

I have had a similar experience. Been married 52 years and way back at the beginning we had no money and were not giving to our church. Shortly thereafter I felt convicted about our lack of giving and committed to give 10% of our gross income each month to God’s work. Been doing so ever since and have felt God’s blessing many times throughout these years. One tip is that our giving is budgeted, and we make our gift at the beginning of each month along with rent, utilities and other fixed costs. It is not a matter of waiting until the end of the month to see if any money is left over.

I feel compelled to make a side comment. God is not a genie who gives us whatever we want as long as we follow certain prescribed steps. Nothing is guaranteed and I hate to imply that if you give generously, you are assured of having success and financial security. God has his own plan for our lives and often times it involves pain and suffering. The important thing is that we love Him and trust Him to do what’s best for us. Yes, there are principles (such as this one) which often lead to success, but it’s not guaranteed. God is bigger than that.

Thank you Joe for the forthright way that you express your faith and share God’s principles for Godly living. Keep up the good work!

I am not a rich man but what I do have i share. Whether it be knowledge or using my skills to help someone out. That’s what I think Salt Strong embodies as well by helping your fellow angler catch more fish. Tight lines and I enjoyed the podcast.
