This is the ULTIMATE app for inshore saltwater anglers looking to catch more redfish, seatrout, snook, flounder, and MORE!
It includes a map with several layers as well as the weather and tides all in one simple, concise view.
The tides talk to the maps and vice versa to provide you with constant updates so you can follow the fish around.
As you slide the blue bar across the screen, the tides and spots change to show you the exact spots you should fish at any time.
Also, as you move the map around, it pulls data from the closest available tide station automatically.
You can even tilt your phone off to the side and the tide chart will spread across full screen for a better view.
The small blue line is the actual tide movement and behind that are bar graphs representing the Strike Score.
The Strike Score is a proprietary blend of the tides, wind, weather, and other factors that forecast how well a day will be for inshore saltwater fishing with a score of 1-10.
On top of where and when to fish are the Smart Spots.
There are additional map layers and views including 4k satellite mapping, 3D shaded relief, oyster bars, and more.
To gain FULL access to this app, you must be a Salt Strong Insider Member.
If you’re already an Insider Member, all you need to do is head over to the app store and download “Smart Fishing Spots”.
Log in with your Salt Strong sign-in information and you’re good to go!

Love the app so far, just downloaded it the other day. My only issue is the layers aren’t saved if you close out the app. Have to go in and add them every time. Other than that, it’s great.
Hey Mike, I’m pleased to report that you can in fact save your favorite layers in the app. All you have to do is tap on the “Save Layers” button at the bottom of the layers section to save your ideal settings. And then once you reopen the app, you can have it all load back by tapping on the “Load Layers” button that’s right next to the Save Layers one.
Note: There is apparently an issue with that feature which is causing it to not work on occasion… our web team is troubleshooting it now.
The app will not let me login. It just goes to a blank screen. I’m using a Galaxy Note

App Store & IPhone 13
This app is awful. Currently looking at a faded white screen. I just need tide charts for one area … frustrated
This is the first I’ve heard of this type of issue. Are you using the web-streaming version (https://sfs.saltstrong.com/) or the App from the app store?
What device are you using?
How often does the app update the maps that are shown? Specifically looking at beach structure.
The satellite maps are pulled from the big platforms like google and bing, so the images are updated when the major platforms update their images (which seems to take place about once per year or two).
Just loaded the app, only tides is available at the bottom. No other tools as mentioned in the video
No other tools are needed… the Smart Fishing Spots platform has the essential tides and weather info within the tide chart, and the map layers will help you find the best spots to fish.
New member. I have been playing around in the phone app. No oyster bars are showing up in my area Brunswick/Darien and I know there is oysters all over. Is there a trick too it? I see them in other areas.
Also is the insider and community layer only for the web version?
It appears as if we have some sort of issue with the oyster layer in that area… we’ll get that fixed as soon as possible.
As for the Community spots map, that’s only available on the web-streaming version of the platform.
The app is more focused on enabling quick access to the map layers and tide/weather info for us while we are out on the water fishing.
New member last few days. The app seems to be great! Thank you .
Downloaded the app on my iphone and it asks for a sign in password. I have not yet set up an account or password. I just joined yesterday.
I cannot download the app on my 2015 mac air pro
It says download requires m1 or later.
I have quad core i7 and my software is up to date.
What is going on??
I can download it on my android phone no problem, but it would be nice to use it on a computer.
