Summer Speckled Trout LOVE These Spots (How to Find Them)

Having a hard time finding quality trout this summer? You’re not alone… and the problem might not be your lure or bait — it could be where you’re fishing. There’s a certain type of spot that checks all the boxes for big summer trout: salty water, easy access to food, depth change, and the perfect ambush setup. And the crazy part? A lot of anglers cruise right past these spots without ever making a cast.

While these aren’t the only places trout hang out, they’re often overlooked — and that could be costing you fish. In this video, I’ll show you exactly what to look for so you can start unlocking these hidden gems on your next trip.

Here on the upper tx coast, people don’t really fish these types of spots. Only a few of us anglers, and charter captains, know about these clutch summer spots. The really good ones here are a little bit of a journey on a kayak but worth the trip out! Good video, Pat.
