Jesus was NOT a fan of legalism.
The tension between Jesus and the religious leaders of the day (Pharisees) all revolved around rules. Remember how many times they tried to trap him for performing miracles on the Sabbath? They made rules about rules and it confused more people than anything else.
In a sentence, spirituality is NOT about rituals, routines, or rites… but a relationship with God and Jesus.
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it.
