The Prawn Rig

The lure I fished with on this trip was The Prawn USA Original in the Natural color.

The water was very clean and clear so the Natural color is a perfect choice.

I had that lure rigged on a 4/0 Hoss Football Jighead weighing 1/4 oz.

I bumped up the weight to 1/4 oz. because I was fishing in about 10-13 feet of water.

Also, I made use of Battle Rattles for additional noise and attraction.

Top that all off with Dr. Juice Saltwater Slam Scent and you’re in business!

Wait to insert the Battle Rattles until the lure is securely on the hook.

Be sure to find a thicker section of plastic so the Battle Rattle doesn’t pop out.

Yea I mentioned the rattle snaker rattle insertion tool from Z man but you never commented about it but you need to try one they make rattle insertion effortless it’s amazing tool but on the power prawn I haven’t used the full sized original yet even though I have a bunch of them but the juniors are a great lure to one of these days I’m going to try and fish the damespoint bridge in mill cove I saw Luke and Joe both do a report about fishing bridged with the power prawn I just haven’t gone yet because I have been doing pretty good fishing sisters creek around oyster mounds for reds and trout with my chasebaits flick prawn on jelly color and even though the water now is not gin clear like where your fishing its about as clear as it gets here in the jax st augustine area of northeast fl it now has a nice light green tint to it and will stay that way probably up to around the beginning of May or sooner depending on how long our winter conditions prevail and as far as scent I like taking procure in the shrimp scent for my plastic shrimp and adding some dr juice to it I find the procure mixes fairly well with the Dr juice I have procure in alot of different scents menhaden, mullet, shrimp, blue crab, inshore, and flounder pounder but each scent I match up with the lures to the scent like I don’t put shrimp scent on a paddletail or mullet on a shrimp lure you get what I mean but they all have dr juice slam scent mixed in them as well I even added a little dr juice to my gulp baits and I was thinking I remember telling you about a tip a on leaving my gulp baits in the bait locker in the sun and it seems to toughen them making them last longer then normal amd was thinking maybe adding the dr juice scent to them also helps contribute to there being tougher don’t know all I know is when left in the sun in there juice in a water tight bait locker it seems ro toughen them anyways thanks for the info and all you do😉👍
