Easy Way To Catch Dinner From Shipping Channels [Flounder & Snapper]

Catching top-quality dinner from inshore waterways can be tough during the hot summer months since many species like flounder and snapper move out to deeper water.

That being said, there are still plenty of them to target inshore in the summer that can be surprisingly easy to target.

This video shows my most trusted way to bring home some very good dinner in the form of flounder and mangrove snapper during the summer without having to bother with live bait or going offshore:

Location

This trip was filmed in Tampa Bay along the shipping channel. The technique used in this video can be applied to any shipping channel as well as most passes/inlets that have at least 20 ft of water. Click here to see a lesson filmed in Boca Grande using this same strategy.

Final Thoughts

The power of the Smart Fishing Spots system has significantly increased our ability to find fish easier than ever before.

I now rely on it to pinpoint high percentage spots like these rocky zones along shipping channels to the point where I’m relying on my phone much more than the far more expensive GPS unit on my boat.

If you’re not yet using Smart Fishing Spots, make sure to start because it is extremely helpful for anglers of all skill levels.

Then come back and let me know what you caught in the comments!

Any idea when the Otis 3000 will be available? Do you have any specs on the reel yet? I see the rod event is coming out in September and would like to be able to pair the Otis 3000 to the rods.

I’ll make it unusually short and sweet night fishing beats anyway to catch fish in the summer hands down and I know haven’t been skunked yet during this summer so all I can say is it works for me😉👍
