Easy Way To Catch Dinner From Shipping Channels [Flounder & Snapper]

Catching top-quality dinner from inshore waterways can be tough during the hot summer months since many species like flounder and snapper move out to deeper water.
That being said, there are still plenty of them to target inshore in the summer that can be surprisingly easy to target.
This video shows my most trusted way to bring home some very good dinner in the form of flounder and mangrove snapper during the summer without having to bother with live bait or going offshore:

Location
This trip was filmed in Tampa Bay along the shipping channel. The technique used in this video can be applied to any shipping channel as well as most passes/inlets that have at least 20 ft of water. Click here to see a lesson filmed in Boca Grande using this same strategy.
Final Thoughts

Before relocating to FL, we used to fish for Flounder in the mid-Atlantic area along any channels in the bay. Deepest areas were about 28 ft.
Time to fish for Flounder again!

Yes, there are some sections of the Galveston jetties that have this high res data (especially at the tips). The main channel is shown too including what looks like an old barge that sunk and is setting in pieces on the bottom… I bet there are a lot of fish holding around it.
This new xt junior is strong but them puffers still tear them up
No soft plastic is puffer-proof. But this material has at least proven to be puffer-resistant for me. I was in a mess of puffers last week, and once I simply sped up my retrieve a bit, they weren’t able to mess them up. I even caught 2 puffers without them messing up the lure… here’s a video showing one of them: https://community.saltstrong.com/post/197423
