But it was the fishermen in Louisiana (and a few in Texas) who made cajun blackened redfish such a sought-after dish.

We couldn’t finish this ultimate redfish recipe post without talking about a redfish soup.

I personally don’t think that I had ever tried making a soup with any fish I’d caught before I found this recipe.

While this takes a little longer to prepare (2 hours), I would highly recommend it for a starter if you’re having some guests over.

Red Fish are found on this side of continent, too. As are: Albacore Tuna, Salmon, Steelhead, Flounder, Sea Bass, Halibut & Cod the size of a full grown man, Smelt, All manner of “Rock Fish”, and mu-u-ch more.
Then there is Dungeness Crab, and so many clams they almost jump in your bucket (if you know where to look).

Come on out to Newport, or Depoe Bay and go fishun.

Ha and as luck would have it my occupation is a cook at a nursing home so doing these and others i have is no problem we here in northeast fl jax area specifically heve a free newspaper call the fishing connection and every monthly issue there is a recipe for fish and before I recycle them I cut the recipe out of each issue I probably have over a 100 so far but these look great I love to grill my fish I put the fish on a thing called a yoshi mat its believe it or not a piece of plastic that is for grilling that can handle up to 500 degrees!! Anyways i melt some butter mixed with about a tablespoon of keylime juice with some fresh garlic as much as you like I grill the fish on the butter but before placing some of the butter on the mat I sprinkle about a teaspoon of some zatterans Cajun seasoning about 3 to 4 min on each side on high heat with the lid of the grill open perfect every time and for those that dont have the mat thick tinfoil works just as well just be sure its not the cheap thin kind and spray it with cooking spray before putting the fish on it enjoy????
