Does Fresh Dead Mullet Outfish Frozen Mullet? [Quick Test]

Cut bait is a very effective way to catch redfish when lures are not being very productive.

It’s easy to use, and can even catch some monster fish as shown in this latest experiment!

However, not all bait is the same, especially when it comes to fresh vs. frozen bait.

In this video we put fresh mullet vs. frozen mullet to the test to see which was most productive.

Enjoy!

Great video Tony! I fish south of Oak Hill to Haulover often. How did you locate the fish on that massive flat? Were you chasing bait or did you see the school of reds first? Great work! Enjoy your videos all the time. Thanks.

I think fresh cut bait is always better than frozen.

Not sure how long the frozen bait soaked before it was lost. Or was there a missed hit, although fresh will always be firmer.

Great video Tony. I completely agree about the fresh bait …. Always better just not always convenient but when you have time it’s well worth it 👍

This is not a fair comparison of bait. How long was the frozen bait missing? The way that you hooked the frozen bait was flawed. Try hooking it near the tail instead of the body, next time.
