How To Find Trout

As you approach fishing a new area, always make sure to enter slowly and begin fishing further away than you want to.

If you immediately pull up to and stop at a point, odds are you are going to spook the fish out of that spot.

Start your trolling motor further out if you have one and then begin systematically fan-casting around you in search of where the trout are stacked up.

There may be underwater structure such as oysters or shelves where the fish are holding.

Ultimately, the last thing you want to do is spook them out from where they are.

In winter to me this is easy I troll it not only catches alot of trout but is an easy way of finding them as well and it’s really surprising at how many anglers I see that dont troll they would rather cast all day or sit in one spot with dead shrimp on the bottom then wonder why they are not catching any many of these anglers I pass while trolling and hook one right in front of them and they still stubbornly sit until there patience wears out but hey that’s great why? More for me ha ha 😉👍
