Key Takeaways
- Most strikes happen on the fall… not the twitch
- Your retrieve should match fish activity and water clarity
- A natural glide will outfish extra “action” almost every time
- Rigging correctly = more fish per lure + fewer snags
- Positioning (flats, docks, reefs) matters just as much as the lure
Final Thoughts
This is one of those lures that can feel inconsistent… until you understand what actually matters.
Because once you dial in the glide…
Match your retrieve to the conditions…
And rig it the right way…
Everything starts to click.
And when it does…
This becomes one of the most reliable lures you can throw.

Can’t beat the prawn, great info video.it is the ultimate lure,I keep several packs all the time
Great video. When do you choose the shrimp over the tweeker or vice versa.
Great video!
Awesome video, going to change up my retrieval and see if that works better.
Thanks Pat great tutorial video. Plenty of options. I am wondering do you suggest using small rattles especially in cloudy water Thanks again
Good video and I know the prawn works because of the fish I have personally caught with it but I have found it to not be my favorite shrimp lure and although I don’t really skip cast under docks when I fish them persay I still fish docks quite a bit but my favorite shrimp lure has always been for some years now the Australian made chasebaits flick prawn the life like profile and action is incredible and even though yes it does have legs and appendages like a real shrimp it actually does skip cast under docks fairly well I also like the fact on how weedless it really is without having to rig it with special weedless hooks and it also comes with a rattle inserted but like anything man made its not perfect and like I said to you before just like any lure they all have there certain conditions where they do best and I only use the chasebaits flick prawn in shallow fishing situations say anywhere from 2 to maybe 8 ft any deeper I go with the prawn its my confidence lure and usually everyone has one thanks Pat for the info and all you do😉👍
