Conclusion
One of the most powerful tools in an angler’s tackle box is not necessarily their lures or fishing rods.
Your own Fishing Network is CRITICAL to inshore fishing success.
Derek credits a lot of his success to creating a network of anglers that share information and help others catch more fish.

Hey Joe, glad you put this pod cast back up. I may or may not have heard it the first time, regardless it was more meaningful today because I have more experience. Color.. in all my years as a guide on Lake Erie and the many years fishing bass tournaments I came to the conclusion color is not very important for a lot of reasons. I do believe it’s patterns. What I mean is it’s size, shape, if the forage is striped then a striped lure might have the advantage. Light of dark, that’s all for me, and just a few variations in one type of lure can cover it all. I do favor eyes on a lure, all fish have eyes it give the lure just a bit more realism if a predator looks for that. Fishing your confidence lure. What makes it a confidence lure the action is known to be almost at an unconscious level the feel you use it so much. You know what it is capable of. Finally you caught fish in it. You will fish a you confidence lure more effectively. The presentation for every condition will be next to perfect, it’s your confidence.
Again thank you!
Great Podcast! Valuble info I could listen again and again. I’m a horseman and I see people with the gift of knowing how a horse thinks, others have to develop that ability. I have to develop that ability with fish, unlike Luke and Derek, they are gifted with it!
Awesome Podcast. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming.
