When winter hits, DON’T overthink and load up on lures you’ll never use.
It comes down to a small set of proven lures that consistently produce from Texas to Florida and much of the Atlantic coast.
So we took the guesswork out and put together the four lures you’ll rely on all winter.
Each one has a clear role and makes choosing the right bait simple, no matter the conditions.

Here’s what I cover inside the video:
• Why winter fish feed differently and how to adjust
• When to use a suspending plug like the Flea Flicker
• Why smaller shrimp profiles outperform bigger baits in cold water
• How to rig weedless so you can fish tight to structure without snagging
• When a compact baitfish profile (like the Polk County Tweaker) outperforms everything
And if you want the easiest way to put all of these winter-proven lures in one place without overspending, the NEW Winter Bundle includes every lure and rigging option shown in the video. It’s built around the exact setup I use to consistently catch redfish, trout, snook, and flounder all winter long.
Final Thoughts
Winter fishing doesn’t have to be complicated. Match your lure to the conditions, slow down your presentation, and keep things simple. These four lures cover nearly every situation you’ll face from now through early spring, and they’re the same ones I rely on every winter. If you want to try them without guessing, check out the NEW Winter Bundle while it’s still available.

Very good video and great information as well …. Job well done Luke
Good lesson and info. Thanks Luke
While everyone has there favorites I have my own as well and by the way I already own ALL the lures you list in your bundle but my top 3 favorites are as followed #1 a plastic shrimp imitation the first one for shallower water then say 6 ft and thats the chasebaits flick prawn the action and its built in rattle not to mention its extremely snag resistant i have thrown it in the thickest of snags and it always returns #2 is the power prawn jr for depths of more then 6ft i have found your shrimp works great around deep docks or dropouts by channel edges in creeks #3 being a small paddletail like the saltstrong 2.0 to mimic very small baitfish in the wintertime but a small 3 inch gulp swimming mullet curly tail is great to rigged on a small jighead i troll with this lure mainly along grassy shorelines next to dropouts with scattered oysters and #4 is some kind of suspending hard plastic twitch bait but not nesacarily the flea flicker the live target slow sinking pilchard is a great one so is the rapala x rap and I change out all my hard plugs with good strong inline hooks and I can think of several good brands now this is not to say that your lures don’t work for me because they all do but in many different situations and you also have to remember MY conditions are totally different then yours mine are mostly stained to muddy water where yours is about 99 percent of the time crystal clear water because I live and fish in northeast fl where your on the gulf coast and besides we ALL fish differently I have adapted to my areas over the last 2 plus decades and you have adapted to yours you know what works best for you and I as well for me not saying your wrong just different areas require different lures in different water conditions thanks for your info and all you do🤔😉👍
Luke – I’ve been watching some videos of your tandem two colored Tweaker rigs and was wondering if you could do some testing of other tandem combinations such as Tweaker/slam Shady, Tweaker/prawn, Slam Shady/prawn etc. just for bite comparison…. Could be interesting?
Thanks for sharing the helpful idea. I’ll add these to my list of tests to perform.
What scent do you use on these lures?
I was using Dr. Juice’s Saltwater Slam scent, but they no longer make it, so I just switched back to ProCure.
I need the update of lures and when to use,and the rigging info
Awesome Luke! thanks for the great info!!!!
A challenge is working these lower weights in our persistent Texas winds. I was in an area today that was holding fish, but with the bow in my line there was little connection to work the lures. A wade fisherman nearby hooked onto a slot speck. Tomorrow I will try something a little heavier if that spot is active and will take a Johnson spoon along. It’s a rubik’s cube for sure!
In windy weather, it’s crucial to be able to position so that you can cast with the wind in order to keep the wind from bowing out the line. If that’s not possible, I’ll make sure to stop the line from going out shortly before the lure lands so it straightens out the line, and put my rod tip down so that the line lays on the surface of the water… this allows for minimizing the bow issue caused from the wind.
Roger that!
Thanks a TON Luke, I’m a sponge for this stuff. Just the prescription I needed. Less can be more indeed.
Our pleasure Matt. I hope you have a great time out on the water this winter.
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now to just find the fish.
