New SIMPLE WEEDLESS RIG for Deep Water Fishing [3 ft to 100 ft]

If you’ve ever fished around docks, bridges, or rock piles, you know how frustrating snags can be.

Since redfish, seatrout, snook, flounder, and pretty much all other ambush predators tend to feed near structure, it’s crucial for us to be able to rig our soft plastics weedless in many cases.

The new jighead was designed specifically to help you as a saltwater angler to be able to easily convert your favorite soft plastic lures into weedless fish catching machines.

Here’s a quick video that shows how it works and how to select the right size jighead for the lure you’re using for each depth range:

Conclusion

If you want to be able to consistently catch inshore slams throughout the year, you’ll need to be able to rig your soft plastics weedless for fishing high structure zones without getting snagged.

This rig gives you all the benefits of a jighead (getting down to the fish fast, solid hookups) while staying completely weedless. That means I can skip it under docks, bounce it around jetties, and work it near pilings without worrying about the snags.

And the best part? The hookup ratio is surprisingly good—when a fish bites, the hook is exposed, giving you a solid chance at landing redfish, snook, flounder, and trout.

I’ve been using this rig more and more when fishing deeper structure, and it flat-out works. If you’re tired of losing lures and want to catch more fish without the hassle, give this setup a shot.

Great job Luke! Including depth charts is a plus! Would a cinch knot or non slip loop be used for these jig heads? Adding which knot is best for each lure and/or set up would be helpful as well. TY! 👊

Thanks for the video and info Luke. Is there an application you would choose a twistlock swimbait hook over the round eye?

Thanks, I used them on Tuesday on the Manatee River. I had tough time finding the fish but when I did, it was on! The weedless football jigs were what they were hitting. With both, Prawn Jr., A small mullet colored paddletail and, a Tweaker.
