Rapala Skitter Walk lures come in size 8 and size 11 (essentially a smaller and a larger bait size profile).
The size 8 is 3-1/8 in and weighs 1/2 oz while the size 11 is just over 4 in and weighs 5/8 oz.
Also, the bead inside creates a different frequency between the two lure sizes.
The rattle has a lower frequency in the size 11 and can draw fish in from further away.
For both sizes, the tapered design helps you punch into the wind when casting.
And the wide belly helps the lure sit flatter on the water.
This allows you to walk the dog much easier than some topwater lures out there.
One glaring con is the cost.
This is a $10 lure and there are more affordable options on the market.
But this is a fantastic lure and worth the cost!
Everyone has a confidence lure and this has been mine for years (it’s my good luck charm).

The Skitterwalk has always been my go-to topwater, for my area. I have tried many others, including the Spook Jr., but the Skitterwalk has always caught the most fish. My largest was a 39.5 inch red last year. I recently have been using the Moonwalker with good results.
Like the way they cast but I still do better with a bone Zara

That Pearl SW08 is one of my go to’s in the spring when the bait fish start to emerge from the back creeks. Something about it the bigger trout love.
I’ve heard that Speckled Trout pattern is fire but I’ve never tried it. I might just have to pick one up.

Awesome video Justin. I switched out all the trebles with the larger inline hooks that you have on the bigger rapaka (shown in video). Will those be ok on the moonwalker? Trying them out Sunday am. Thanks buddy
Good deal! I think the Owner XXX 3/0 Owner Single Inlines would work on the Moonwalker, but it’s not my go-to size. I actually had the Owner 1X 2/0 Single Inlines on my Moonwalker, and those worked well. I would either go with an Owner 2/0 or the Mustad Kaiju 1/0, personally. Either way, I’m sure you’ll catch a load of fish with what you have! Let us know how it works out for you man!
