Fishing Coach Matt Lanier had never thrown a cast net before I taught him how!

He was able to learn and throw the cast net to catch some shrimp for us all in ONE morning.

To start, double-over the net at about an arm’s length of the way down and grab a hold of that loop with your left hand.

Then, reach down with your right hand and grab the ends of the net in between one of the weights.

Give the entire net a good shake at this point to make sure everything is clear and untangled.

Next, this is optional, but it’s best to place the bottom piece of the net in between your teeth.

Reach an arm-length or so down on the net from your mouth and now you’re ready to throw the net.

All it takes from there is using your momentum to swing the net around you letting go at the same time so it opens flat like a pancake over the water.

Let the net fall all the way down to the bottom over the shrimp or live bait you’re targeting.

Then gently pull the net into your vessel.

On Matt’s VERY FIRST throw with the cast net, he was able to pull up some live bait.

You can go ahead and repeat this for yourself to fill up your live well and catch fish all day long!

That was the worst video you guys have ever presented!comment image So did the net just configure itself in his left hand? The pre-wrap in the left hand is the most important part before the toss! You a need a retake that starts with picking up the net. LOL!
