So, are you saying we can just use monofilament line for leader?

Thank You Guy’s for this video. Something to think about when discussing shore vs boat fishing is the boat’s amount of dissimilar metals which cause electrical currents. While wading one does not have much chance of having dissimilar metals. On a boat there are many chances of having dissimilar metals causing currents to be emitted. Even the motors have sacrificial zinc. These currents can either attract or repel fish. Galvanic corrosion is much worse in saltwater than fresh so when fishing saltwater be cognizant of this.

Guys great stuff. You discussed this in the past but well worth hearing it again. I remember when I first joined salt strong I was trying to transition from bass, and tougher yet (because of the depth I fished on Lake Erie) walleye. Before I heard of Salt Strong I got a boat and hit the water. After a couple months of fishing and getting skunked I knew I needed instruction. I recall the first trip out on a flat 2 feet or less of crystal clear water and I could not believe there were fish there even though I knew I had to be in the right area. The courses kicked up my knowledge level. Not enough yet. I put it to practice it just didn’t click at first …. I had doubts. Then one day I caught trout! Then more trout, ladyfish, and I was having fun, now my confidence was boosted. That’s all I needed, I knew you had something an my confidence and trust in you guidance and courses and the community.. I could not get enough it was what transitioned me into an inshore angler. Dare I say I am pretty darn good at catching inshore fish. Always learning.. one note I am an old guy… yep we old guys can learn.. but for all the newbie to inshore old guys, time is not on our side so get to “school”. Thanks for Salt Strong it sped up the process a whole lot, thank you!

Kinda agreed on the first 3 but the last 2 no first off like I have always said the rod reel and line are ALL just as important together they work as a team think about it you say the rods the most important because it does most of the work well all I know in my 55 years of fishing and 21 being inshore saltwater that if you got a cheap reel with a crappy drag I don’t care how great your rod is your most definatly going to loose that fish unless its way to small to pull any line and if you have cheap line to heck with all of it your just wasting your time to me your tackle is like team work on a job without everyone’s EQAUL participation tge jobs not going to get done properly just like if the rod is not ment for the job is either to light or to heavy or the reel like I said has a substandard drag or the line is cheap and breaks easily the fish is gone teamwork is key when EVERYTHING works together in sequence it gets it done right and as far as fish are tge same everywhere yes they are the same species but your area you simply cannot say that they behave exactly the same as opposed to my area of northeast fl you don’t have murky water I do I dont have clear water you do I don’t have coral or seagrass beds with potholes you do you don’t have dark muddy bottoms with only oysters and docks and Sawgrass lined shorelines I do you have mangroves I don’t so obviously if the structure is way different then yes they are both the same fish but in different locations the fish in my area are caught rather differently you guys make very long casts so as not to spook them my casts are on average about 25 yards tops you have to be super quiet because the water here is so murky most of the year although making noise is not recommended unless your very loud one can still catch alot within reason so you see what I mean? Yea the fish are the same species but because of there enviournment different tactics mostly apply when I do my reports on what lures worked best I know you notice and I have said i always use a lure with either or both gold and chartruse probably in your clear water it would nor work so great natural colors are obviously best in clear water because they are more visible and I know pat has traveled all over the southeast to fish and has used the same lures everywhere I never said your lute colors that you primarily use don’t work here just nor ad good likebfor instance your coveted slam shady yea I have some and have caught fish on them but I know your gold digger or fred or Alabama leprechaun for my waters work much better sp you see guys it’s a matter of opinion while I do love this club and know that it’s probably the best saltwater inshore club out there I never will take your word that EVERYTHING is exactly the way you guys say it is because we are all human and everyone is different and experiences things differently then one another in other words it’s ALL a matter of opinion enough said so with that thanks for yours amd all you guys do😉👍

There’s very little in life that’s black and white, and even less so when it comes to fishermen’s beliefs. You can have two experts testifying under oath in court and reach very different, if not opposite conclusions. What was interesting about this podcast is that it was supposedly exposing lies but then referencing exceptions that would make them true … a guide using live bait or fluorocarbon leader better sometimes. May need to add a fact checker to the staff🤣
