How To Add Rattles To Power Prawn U.S.A. Lures

Have you ever tried putting extra rattles into your soft plastic lures?

Extra rattle or attraction in the lure helps to mimic baitfish to trigger more strikes.

Check this out to learn how to enhance your Power Prawn U.S.A. lure presentation by adding Battle Rattles!

We recommend using the Battle Rattles when enhancing your lure’s presentation with added sound.

They are small, compact, and non-intrusive so they will not impact the shape of the lure.

Just a little extra noise can increase the attention your lure gets which can be the difference between a successful day or a skunk.

You especially want extra rattles in your lure if you are fishing in dirtier water with low visibility.

How To Install Battle Rattles

Firstly, the best place to insert the rattles is towards the rear of the Power Prawn lure.

Before trying to insert any rattles into the lure, you first want to dig a pilot hole with another hook.

The bottom of the Power Prawn U.S.A. is split and dug out to make room for the hook shank.

You want to put the hook point, facing the tail of the lure, through the top-notch of the underbelly, and then move it straight down.

Make sure to get the barb of the hook dug into the plastic to create a pilot hole for the rattle.

Then, to insert the rattle, you want the pointed side facing out, and then insert the rattle in the underbelly.

Now, simply slide the rattle down and into the cavity you’ve just created with the hook.

The rattles will slide snugly into position and then with a slight pinch with your fingers, they will not come loose.

The exact same premise and process holds true for the Power Prawn U.S.A. Jr. when that hits the tackle shop soon!

Yea I use lures with sound almost always and shrimp lures are no different but they can be a pain to rig have yet to try my USA prawns out yet but will soon the only thing I would d recommend though is maybe make some a bit smaller for spring and winter fishing never seem a shrimp as big as the USA prawn so to match the hatch soto speak with them would be a little tough great advice on the rattles though and thanks for all you do😉👍

I am pleased to report that we have a smaller version of the Power Prawn USA coming out very soon (within the next couple weeks). It’s 3.5 inches long, and the testing of them has gone extremely well (including with Coach Richard Thomas who fishes from Jacksonville), so I think you’ll really enjoy using them too.
