Found A Hidden Lake Full Of Fish [And Crazy Pelican]

I found a HIDDEN LAKE full of fish!

The paddleboard hadn’t been out in a while and this was the perfect chance to put it back in action.

This was right after a major cold front so I didn’t know what to expect.

Featured Equipment:

On the first cast in the hidden cove, I reeled in a slot redfish.

With two rod setups (Slam Shady 2.0 and the Prawn USA Junior) I decided to conduct a little experiment.

Every 3 casts, I switched to the other lure.

I found a deep hole absolutely filled with fish.

Without a doubt, I found the 90/10 Zone.

Conclusion

Although cold fronts typically cause the fish to not feed as aggressively, there still will be opportunities for some fish catching fun.

You just need to be very mindful of which specific spots you target because the fish will only respond to slow moving lures that requires you to not be able to cover much water.

In both of the spots I chose this trip, the fish were holding in the deepest pockets of water just like they were supposed to.

And a slow bouncing jig along the bottom was able to get some strikes making for a super fun trip.

Here are the 3 steps you need to complete to make sure that you stay on the bite as the season’s change:

  1. Go through the Fishing School lessons
  2. Watch the Weekend Game Plan Lessons for your area
  3. Use the Smart Fishing Spots platform to find great spots based on the tides and weather

I helped to rescue a fisherman from an aggressive pelican a couple of years ago. The bird had eaten the fishermen’s catfish and was looking for more. When I arrived at the scene, the Pelican was on the boat’s bow and the fisherman standing on the stern’s bench, a can of pepper spray in hand.

I found a hidden lake and have been debating about trying it. It’s not as big and not a lot of flow in, but after seeing this I have to try it.

Your a crazy guy Luke that’s for sure if you think that weather was windy and rough for fishing you should of been with me last weekend 4 to 5 foot whitecap water with northwest winds at about a steady 15 plus mph with gusts of up to about 22mph heck if you can fish anything on a paddleboard to me that’s not rough! Plus you called the pelican crazy ya got to remember they are not out to catch fish for fun but to eat considering that’s all they eat and if they don’t catch anything they would starve heck you let go to great eating fish a sheepshead and a snapper im sorry but if it’s legal and I haven’t gotten my limit yet its dinner I’m with the pelican I spend to much money on my sport to just catch and release especially considering how great inshore saltwater fish are to eat but thats you guys anyways I was surprised you were not fishing with that new color 2.0 paddletail you have now that alewife color looks to me like a dead ringer for small mullet and in that ultra clear water that you always fish im sure it would look like it to the dish as well plus im curious as to why you used a round jighead especially on the power prawn instead of the football jighead it seems to me the football would mimic a shrimps action more then with the round jighead anyways I know you know what your doing just curious but can definatly tell you I fish way differently then you do and the last couple times haven’t done anything even after working a plan and using the smart spots app which I do before and during a trip but like I have said before NOTHING is perfect or gaurenteed because if it was there would be no fish left and that would of happened long ago anyways until next time thanks for the info and video and all you do😀👍
