The Salt Strong Moonwalker needed some tweaking and we’ve got it perfected.
New rattles have been installed into each new Moonwalker and they effectively swim across the surface as intended!
The greatest part about the updated Moonwalker is the heavy-duty single inline hooks.
Two of these single inline hooks by themselves cost just as much as the lure fully assembled and paired with hooks!!
The split ring size is also increased a bit on the lure and to go along with that there is no gap on the hook so it will NEVER detach from the split ring.
In addition to the new and improved Moonwalker lure, there are some NEW lures in their own individual packaging.

Let’s discuss split rings. Would the lure work equally well removing the split ring and using a loop knot to tie on the leader. I’ve had the end part of split rings damage the leader causing it to break. Would removing the ring throw off the action of the Moonwalker.
Hey Kenneth! Yes, definitely REMOVE the split ring on the nose. The newer models come without a split ring up front for that reason.
So, can we trade in the original Moon Walker…just kidding. Are the originals still,ok, haven’t been on the water with them yet. The FRED the jerk bait is intriguing, I have to get some of those. And the Bombers seem to be pretty good in some of your videos and the community reports. Thanks for giving us more options.
Hey Kenneth! The original Moonwalkers are perfect. That was the “Beta Test” and the main thing we changed (based on feedback) was making the split rings slightly larger and going with the strongest, beefiest single hook we could find (the original Moonwalker had single Owner hooks – these new ones are even stronger). FRED has been a great all-around color and the BOMBER is really good in late summer and fall when the bait are big. Appreciate you
I was just kidding Joe but I did buy a couple of new models. I now have an armada of Moonwalkers. I’ve caught some of my best reds, snook and trout on topwater although at 76 they wear me out pretty quickly. Still excites me to see the fish blow up on them.

I like working those “moonwalkers”. Got 6 of them. All “inline” hooked, 3 bone and 3 painted black. One of each color w/ the BB’s removed, and another of each color w/ matching feathers tied on the rear hooks.

I guess these new ones are better than the old best ones. I need more room to keep the latest , if I don’t throw out the old ones. I hope Salt Strong doesn’t turn into a lure company.

Me too. Would prefer to think reviews/recommendations are unbiased. With all the paddle tails in the world, we no longer can expect to hear about any of them.

Hey Richard, sorry if there is any confusion here. We’ve been 100% transparent that the first round of the Moonwalker was a BETA test where we needed feedback. We heard from many of you who bought them and we made the requested changes and this is the FINAL version (so yes, it is better – on purpose). Hope that makes sense.
Fantastic! Heads up though the Slam Shady Jerk Shad link is taking us to the Z-Man Slam Shady Jerk, not the Slam Series one.
Should be the slam series now. 💪
