I GOT OUT-FISHED BY AN INSIDER MEMBER!!!
Little did I know, but he made a slight adjustment to his retrieve that the fish couldn’t resist!

The difference was in our retrieve speeds.
We were both fishing using the Alabama Leprechaun on a Hoss Helix Hook with the only difference being retrieval speeds.
The depth we were fishing was about 3-5 feet of water.
The issue was I was not giving my lure enough time to reach the water column with all the feeding fish.
This ultimately was the reason why I did not catch as many quality fish.

It is super important to think about your retrieve and pick up on any indicators that fish reveal to you.
If you are out with a friend, it can benefit both of you to throw different lures and change up retrieves so you can further dial in on exactly what the fish want that day.

One of the most important and overlooked aspect of fishing is observation. And great job on figuring out what happened and why!
