Power Fishing Tips In Late Fall For Redfish & Snook

http://power%20fishing%20in%20the%20fall

This lesson shows an extremely effective method of fishing that will enable you to consistently catch fish throughout the Fall without having to worry about live bait.

The method of fishing I am referring to is called Power Fishing which is a strategy focused on covering as much good looking water as possible in a given hour to maximize the odds of finding some hungry fish every trip.

This method is particularly effective in the Fall because many predator fish are often spread out up in the shallows which gives a big advantage to fishermen who cover more water.

A key to this type of fishing is to be mobile while fishing. Although small skiffs with trolling motors are what most people think of when Power Fishing is being discussed, it certainly can be done by wade fishing as well as when fishing from a kayak too.

To see this strategy in action, watch the video below because I made it in a new format in which I go over the core strategy while showing the cast to hookup clips of a recent trip so you can see it all in action.

Conclusion

Power fishing is an extremely productive and fun way to fish in the Fall season because the fish are often spread out and they are generally in a good feeding mood.

So this is the season when fishermen skilled in using artificial lures can have a huge advantage given the increased water coverage.

In this trip featured above, I fished 1/5 miles of shoreline with structure in 2 hours… that type of water coverage would not be possible by anyone using live bait.

That expansive water coverage is what helped ensure that I could find some fish willing to strike topwater even well after the sun came up.

And given that I caught a slot snook just 2 casts after switching to subsurface, I now wonder how many good fish I missed out on because I was having so much fun getting topwater strikes.

Either way, it sure was a fun morning out on the water.

I only ever get out for a few hours at a time so this was very helpful for me. Like the format for sure, would have like to see a quick run through on a map what water you covered in that period of time as well. Keep up the great work!

Awesome video, Luke. On the reels you used was the gear ratio the same for both top water and paddle tails. Do you have a recommendation? I’m about to add the Legalis to my collection.

Thanks for posting this. Your fishing areas offer much more than in my area given all the mangroves, trees, and structure. Our bays are pretty open, no trees, not much structure other than rock outcroppings limiting me to sandy points with eel grass cover. Species are limited as well i.e. spotted bay and banded bass, halibut, croaker, some corvina. I’ve got to get me a kayak so I can cover more area. A bit more difficult with this aging body. I may have to opt for a trolling motor, but then have to go through the hassle of registration, steering cables and car top transport. Oh well, we gots to do what we gots to do.

Loved the video. Format is great. Short and sweet so we can get the message in our spare time. Appreciate all the great content. I went on my maiden inshore salt water trip last week in Rockport and hooked 3 specs and landed two. Thanks for getting me up to speed!

Great info! I’d even be interested in a long-form version of this (an hour or two) to get a sense of the speed and rhythm going from spot to spot.

Great information and format Luke. I see way too many anglers sitting in the same spot and not power fishing. The fish are not going to hit the 5th-100th time they see your lure!
They usually hit the very first cast or not at all. So keep moving and find new fish to cast to.
