Conclusion
This is a solid jighead to rig your soft plastic lures on.
I like this jig for Gulp Shrimp and grub tail lures.
While it is not perfect, it is a good choice for inshore fishing.

Nicely done Tony. Unbiased, informative and interesting. Good job presenting.
Thank you for the great feedback Bob!
Great review. I like the the small profile as well, especially the 1/0 size for mini 2” baits.
I’ve found this jig head good for rigging gulp bits on a 1/16oz weight to catch bigger bait, too. Mustad also makes a 1/0 Shrimp Head in 3/16oz that has a small shank/profile that’s good for this. Trout Eye has a nice 1/0 finesse size in 1/4oz as well.
For bigger lures/fish, I’ve started preferring stronger hooks. I’m most impressed with Knotty Hooker heads which use thicker wire Gammy hooks & have a nice stand up head design as well.
Great additional info Keith, thanks!
Great information
I’ve tried a whole bunch of jig heads and have settled on the trout eye / redfish eye heads. There seems to be something about their big eye that attracts fish, and they work well with Z Man plastics.
I have heard that the eye tends to be a target for predator fish. However, redfish have that spot on their tail which is supposed to imitate a large eye to fool predators. So i’m not too sure how true it all is, but would definitely make for an interesting test.
I’m not sure either, Tony………I just seem to have better success with them.
Tony, have you tried the Slayer inc. jigs? The work really well with the Z-Man products. I watched your review with their paddle tails, and I’m interested what you think about their jig. Great review, thanks.
Thanks Joe! I haven’t tried them yet but I’ll be sure to check them out.
I’d be interested in your thoughts, thanks again for your review, great info.
