In most of my wade fishing videos, I will most likely be equipped with only a belt to hold all of my tackle and gear.
But I also do use my boat as a “mothership” of sorts to go back to if I am in need of gear.
As you know, it can be difficult to bring everything you need or want out with you on a wade fishing trip.
Seamule has been generous enough to offer a 20% discount on Seamule products for all Insider Members.

Cart Overview
The main part of the cart is a large plastic base that is actually very lightweight and easy to carry.
I was surprised at how lightweight the cart actually is.
Moreover, I was even further surprised to see how well it handles waves and rough surf.
My main concern was a boat whizzing by in the channel causing waves that could tip the cart over.
But, all told, the cart stayed upright and absorbed the waves.
There are more than a few rod holders on the cart with the ability to customize different aspects of it to your liking.
I prefer to keep my fishing rods in the top holders to avoid any splashes.
However, there is a rod holder below that sits right on the edge of the cart.
This is absolutely ideal for placing your rod down if you need to tend to a fish or other issue quickly.
In addition, there is a space in the front of the cart dedicated to storing a live bait bucket.
If you have a bucket with an aerator, you can simply place it in the cart and it will keep the bucket secure and easy to reach.
Also, there are two slots on the back of the cart with nets for super-fast live bait handling.
Or, if you want to have a few different types of live bait, the extra bait holders come in handy.
Additionally, there is a space cut-out in the center of the cart for a cooler and your tackle box.
As an added bonus, there are also cup holders and a ruler on the side of the cart for those borderline fish!
Overall, it is a very simple design but effective because it is easy to move around the cart and get what you need.
Additions & Accessories
In addition to the main cart, I also picked up the additional tackle station you can mount onto the cart.
The tackle station has a clean area for your tackle and you can hang hooks off of it as needed.
Also, there are holders for pliers and knives next to a small bait cutting board.

The Pros
#1 – Ideal For Live Bait Anglers
The different separations of bait and the ability to have multiple rods set up at one time make this the ultimate cart for live bait anglers.
You can set up multiple live bait rods and then fish with artificial lures off to the side.
#2 – Extremely Lightweight
As I mentioned earlier, again, I was shocked at how lightweight the entire cart is.
It is easy to lift and move around due to the cleverly-placed handlebars along the sides.
There is a latch in front of the cart as well for you to anchor it down if you desire.
#3 – Have Everything You Need With You
Usually, it is difficult to have another rod setup out there with you on a wade fishing trip.
It might get wet or you simply don’t have enough hands.
This cart keeps all your gear together and safe.
You won’t have to keep going back to your car for more gear because you can have all that you need already with you.
If you are a wade angler, especially if you fish with live bait, the Seamule Wade Fishing Cart is worth checking out.
The Cons
#1 – Price
The Seamule Wade Fishing Cart is listed at $200, and if you are not getting the Insider Only discount on this product, then it could be a steep ask.
Although not completely necessary, the cart does keep all of your gear together and has its own perks if you are willing to meet the price point.
#2 – Artificial Lure Anglers
If you are an artificial lure angler, this might not be the best choice for you.
You can bring all of the artificial tackle and gear you would need in a wade fishing belt.
Unless you need a cooler or rod holders, all of the artificial gear you would need can fit in a fanny pack, sling bag, or wade fishing belt.
#3 – Keeping The Cart Out Of Your Way
If you are fishing with the wind and you do not have the cart anchored down, it will get in your way of fishing.
You will find that the cart wants to ride with the wind and that can get in your way of fishing down a shoreline.
You could always anchor the cart a little ways away from you but then you would have to repeatedly move it as you move down the shoreline.
This can also be solved by fishing cross-wind or positioning yourself more diagonal to the wind.

Conclusion
If you are a live bait angler looking for a better fishing experience on the flats, then this is the cart for you.
Everything you need is in one spot and the cart allows you to fish multiple baits on multiple setups all at the same time.
However, it will come down to personal preference!

How do you transport it
I had contacted SeaMule back in mid April after getting the wade cart delivered and taking it out a couple times, as the wheels don’t lock in place and fall off, causing the whole cart and cargo to collapse mid transit to the water, which is super frustrating. Any sort of weight on it appears to cause that and I had less on it than what I’ve seen on advertisements pictures. They asked me to send some photos/videos, so I took the time to do that and sent it and I never heard back. I have sent several emails in an attempt to follow up but nobody has responded. You can waste my money or my time, but you can’t do both and I will be sure to post as many reviews to inform people about this defect in the product and lack of customer support. Really disappointed because I really wanted this to work and really wanted to like and support SeaMule, the wheels are just a must. SeaMule, if you’re out there, I’d love for y’all to make it right!
Regardless of any partnership to get Insiders discounts, we will always remain unbiased so we value everyone’s feedback (good and bad). I will reach out to some contacts at SeaMule to see if we can help out with this process as they are usually pretty good about this sort of stuff.
Please email me (cameron@saltstrong.com) the email you used for the order and I would be happy to reach out!
I don’t wade fish much because I live in FT Worth TX. I’ve been going back and forth on this. I have a beach cart that will somewhat float. My concern when wade fishing is live bait and cool water. After watching the tutorials though, I am confident that slam shaydys and power prawns will catch most fish that I would wade for. You answered my question on the need for the cart. My cart can carry my gear if I decide to jetty fish and in lovely Texas, you can drive on the beaches. If it drops below $150 ever, I may consider it.
I just received mine 2 weeks ago and can’t wait to get out in the water with it !
I guess you could hook some small drag weight to it so it stays behind you. The other question I have is what type of footwear do you use to wade fish? Are they kind of rock/oyster proof?
I thought about bringing along a cheap grapple anchor, but again, it turns into a similar situation where you have to turn around in the middle of your Wade to move your “home base”.
As for the boots, they’re NRS Backwater wetshoes! I love them and I have a tough time fishing in anything else unless it’s winter! I walk on oysters all the time, but the sides definitely have a couple of nicks (reinforced neoprene). If you want more rock (or even stingray barb protection) I would suggest heavy duty lace ups from Orvis or Simms.
Thanks for the information.
A real fashion statement and an excellent way to lug a case of iced down White Claw while wading the flats 👏
Hahaha you betcha!
Wading is one of my favorite activites and I have never and will never consider dragging around some clunky craft designed to hold all my shit. Just rock a backpack with rod holders attached to the back of it.
You’re going to want a sturdy backpack with back support board. These backpacks are sturdy and allow for more weight to hang from them.
Granted most my wading is done off my kayak in slues so my kayak essentially become my large gear hauler.
For any situation other than live bait, I would agree. The wading belt allows an artificial angler to bring everything they need, and keep it simple.
But for folks who don’t have a kayak or boat to mothership from, this could be super useful for any angler.
I have one of these and have it decked out, 3-3 pole holders 2-2 pole holders live well cooler and made a trolling stand for it as well. I also purchased the wheel set so if you can’t launch directly from vehicle you can drag it easily completely loaded. Wish I could add a pic. I’ve had people ask to take my pic. and that it was the coolest thing they have ever seen.
How cool!! Glad you’re enjoying your cart! They’re definitely a really unique piece of gear for flats fishing!
We saw a guy using one a couple of weekends ago. Pretty dang cool!
Yup! They sure are interesting!
