Trick BIG Fish To Bite [VIDEO]

Generally speaking, we all want to catch the biggest fish possible on every trip.
Lately, it’s been a goal of mine to specifically seek out and target bigger fish.
Big Fish Biology
Big Fish get to be BIG by eating larger-sized meals less frequently.
They’d rather not expend the calories chasing down many small meals.
So first things first, you need to use a lure profile big enough to trigger strikes.
Especially during this time of the year, baitfish are big with mullet growing to some of their largest sizes as well as pinfish.
One of the best lures out there for this is the 5-inch Slam Shady BOMBER.
Preferably, you’d have this lure rigged up on a 4/0 Hoss Helix Hook.
For me, this has been the best pairing for specifically targeting those larger fish.
The larger 5-inch BOMBER paddletail displaces more water and gives off lots of vibrations.
Its design makes it easier for predatory fish to locate and strike.
Furthermore, with seasonal transitions come unpredictable, heavy winds.
The BOMBER actually creates even more vibrations on the water in the wind to help fish find the lure amongst the chaos.
Additional BOMBER Lure Colors
Not only does the BOMBER come in just the Slam Shady color.
There is also now the Gold Digger BOMBER in the shop with the F.R.E.D. BOMBER, and Alabama Leprechaun BOMBER coming soon!!!
I have tested them out for you guys and I can tell you firsthand that these BOMBER lure colors catch a TON of BIG fish.
When To Use Each BOMBER Lure Color
The Slam Shady is an all-purpose, versatile fishing lure color that can be used at any time, anywhere.
One of the best times to use this lure color is first thing in the morning.
It stands out in low light conditions and almost mirrors the bone color of most baitfish in the water.
If you can’t get fish to connect with your topwater lures early in the morning or even late in the evening, then give the Slam Shady BOMBER a try.
Another time you want to use the Slam Shady color is if the water is super clear and you can see to the bottom.
The next BOMBER is in the Gold Digger color.
I like to use this lure color if there are heavy winds and extensive cloud cover above.
The color design of this lure allows it to really stand out in low-light conditions.
Also, if you are fishing in muddy or stained water, this lure color is an excellent choice.
Moving on, another of my new favorite BOMBER colors is the Alabama Leprechaun.
This color is not available in our tackle shop yet but will be very soon.
I had the chance to test out this prototype and it got absolutely clobbered by a hungry redfish on my first trip with it.
The Alabama Leprechaun BOMBER is dynamite when fishing clear water grass flats in the middle of the day.
Last but not least, we have the F.R.E.D. BOMBER (also coming to the shop VERY SOON!!!)
F.R.E.D. is another extremely versatile lure color that does an excellent job of triggering strikes in just about any fishing situation.
This lure makes itself known in clear conditions and even at times when visibility is low to none.
Additional Scent
Adding more scent to your lures will only increase your chances of landing a big fish.
The bigger fish depend heavily on their olfactory senses to find and locate meals.
More scent on your lures gives big fish a direct path to finding them.
Few are better than the Dr. Juice Saltwater Slam Scent which is exclusive to Salt Strong.
Conclusion
Our 5-inch BOMBER paddletails NEED to be in your tackle box for late summer and early fall!!
Remember, bigger fish want to eat bigger meals so bumping up the size of your lures is a step towards landing your personal best.
Keep in mind the F.R.E.D. and Alabama Leprechaun BOMBERS are not in the shop yet but are coming SOON!!!

Great breakdown on the color selection Matt I think a lot of people are probably struggling with color selection …. Me personally I know I need to use the bomber more than I do especially when I’m not having any luck with whatever I’m using but if it’s just a bad day or the fish are not where you want to fish and you (me) try the bomber and get nothing then I’m not giving the bomber a fare chance. Here in NC sight fishing is nearly impossible and there may be a ton of bait and birds so you know there should be fish but ultimately you have to blind cast at structure and points and such where you feel are good places for a fish to be and it’s just hard for me to focus more on using the bomber because it’s not one of my confidence lures so I’ve got to devote more time and confidence in the bomber and hopefully this video will help encourage that 👍 thanks and keep ‘em coming

Great stuff on when to use the various colors. Do you rig these with the e 4/0 hoss helix or the 3/0? Are times when it’s best to use the 3/0?
