Beach Fishing For Snook (One Lure Destroyed Everything Else!)

If you ever run out of ideas, go beach fishing for snook!!

In the early hours of the morning, snook are cruising up and down the beach looking for an easy breakfast.

Luke and I stopped off at a beach because, unfortunately, our trolling motor died.

But, we decided to make the most of the day and see if we could reel in some snook from the surf.

Conclusion

how to catch snook from the beach

You can always catch fish off of the beach no matter the time of year.

Especially during late summer, bait schools form off of beaches providing easy opportunities for a meal.

If you can get out to a beach at first light, bring some topwater lures and paddletails along for the trip!

Great lessons Joe. I have been successful with the Power Prawn USA in the easy surf of the SWF Gulf.

I can confirm that the Power Prawn does the trick as advertised, even though it does not “match the hatch.” The beach was filled with seaweed, so using whitebait was a problem because they were swimming into the seaweed. Used the Power Prawn outside of the weedline and got a nice one on the 5th cast.

I do use uniknots for the tippet and a loop knot for good action.

We’re going with the new football jig heads over the Zman Mags now primarily because of the anti-roll effect of the football shape? Any other reasons?

Any reason you prefer the blood knot over the double uni on the tippet tie?

Great beach advice. I always get in the water. Is this the same advice with the Moonwalker early snd late. Should I always retrieve with the current? I have only caught fish with the Moonwalker since joining. I need a slam. Power prawn is coming soon.

That was good amount of action in a short amount of time, especially for a plan B when you had boat problems! We’ll done!

Thoroughly enjoyed that! Fished Captiva from the beach last year (mid August) and I’ll be fishing Marco beaches in 30 days…thanks for the great pointers that will make my trip more fun. Power Prawns were the most productive bait last year on Captiva.
