If you’re fishing in clear water, red is a good idea to choose for the jig head color, but if you’re fishing in murkier water, chartreuse is a good idea because it will attract more attention.

If your Jig is white should the eyes be red?

Try to match the colour of the jig head to the bait , for example if I’m using a red soft plastic I will use a gold jig head , silver for yellow , white , I could go on and on but just have a verity to match any different colour bait as best you can

If its lead, get outta bed!!! lol I prefer unpainted/silver, black, and red. Never found chartreuse to work well for me as a jig color. I almost always use it as a tail color though.

I know that I have heard that red is the first color to disappear in the water column but I use mostly red or the new z-man weedless eye jigheads but to me the jighead isnt as important as the bait color considering its so small and not as noticable but what works for some not for others thanks again for all you do????

I disagree. Ask yourself, why do albino prey animals hardly ever grow up into adulthood? White & Glow has produced more fish for me than any other colored jig head out there in recent years, especially fishing glow at night. Glow mimics an injured bait covered with photo plankton. Chartreuse is another excellent color used during daylight hours, because it stands out against other natural baits in the water. Red? Meh!

Short shank DOA in black is one my favorites. I’ve had great success.
