Cancel Culture: It Might Shock You Who Gets Involved…

http://cancel%20culture%20church

This whole cancel culture has gotten out of hand.

It seems that there isn’t anything that doesn’t get someone offended these days, but instead of just moving on with their lives, some people are so miserable they spend all of their energy trying to “cancel” the person or company that offended them.

We were recently caught in the crosshairs of this and there were some powerful learning lessons from the experience.

Enjoy this episode and let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

This is a great reminder about the pitfalls of social media and the herd mentality. Always have to be careful about what information is presented and remember that discernment is key! One of the other problems that goes hand in hand with cancel culture is the desire to find something to be offended about. It seems no one can tell the difference between disagreeing with something vs being offended by it. That tends to spur on even more “cancelling.”

FWIW, I received the ad and became a member because of it. I’m new to inshore fishing, but have taken guides out to Mosquito Lagoon and want to learn more about the fishery and try to be more active in it’s conservation. I now have my own boat and want to learn the area and be an advocate for change to see the fishery reflourish.

Spot ON!!! You are talking about being kind to others and unfortunately, most people today feel the need be “right”,(whatever that means) in stead of thinking that “I might have jumped the gun on this”. As as you say, giving the other person the benefit of your doubt because you don’t know anything about them or their circumstances. Well said. I really commend you for taking the time, energy, and expense to put it out there. You are speaking truth to power. James Andersen
