Shark Repellent: New Product Made To Scare Sharks Away!

Picture this…
You’ve spent all week planning your offshore fishing trip.
You’ve got family in town and you can’t wait to put them on the fish of a lifetime and fill the cooler.
You finally get out there, anchor up, and drop some baits down.
BOOM!
One of the rods doubles over and your brother is reeling up a big one.
But all of a sudden, the line is a lot lighter…
After all the planning and effort, your brother reels up a half-eaten grouper.
You’ve been robbed by the taxman!
It’s so heartbreaking to have a shark steal your catch, especially if it was one you were planning to keep.
And if you’re a charter captain where your livelihood depends on the fish you catch, it can be even more devastating.
So what can you do?
The old school way of warding off sharks was to catch one, kill it, and toss it overboard.
The smell of a dead shark seems to keep other sharks away, but obviously that’s inhumane and unsustainable.
Recently, a team of fishing guides and scientists have come out with a new shark repellent that keeps them away, and actually attracts other target fish.
Today, I’ve got Capt. Mike Puller on the podcast to talk about the problem of sharks, how it’s actually increased recently, and how shark repellent can help you land more fish without getting taxed.
Plus, Capt. Mike shares a little bit about the Fishing Experience, which is his summer camp for kids that teaches them how to fish.

Conclusion
I love how SharkTec is working on a product that can help both people and fish.
It’s heartbreaking to watch tarpon get eaten after you catch them, and to think that with this product (or any other shark repellent) that might not have to happen again is really encouraging.
