➡Smart Fishing Spots App

Smart Fishing Spots has everything you need to plan a successful fishing trip all in one app.

You do not have to jump around from app to app remembering all of the information to compile a pre-trip plan.

Each angler has their own way of pre-trip planning, but for me, I prefer to start by choosing a spot I want to fish.

Then, I look at the weather forecast for the next week to see when the conditions line up best.

However, it may be the opposite for you if you can only fish on a certain day.

Smart Fishing Spots also provides you with the entire weather forecast of the day you want to fish by clicking on whichever day that is.

The temperatures, weather, wind, and wind direction will automatically pop up and organize by the hour.

Planning A Trip

To start planning a trip, click the small blue “Gear” icon in the bottom right corner on the homepage of the app.

Then click on the first icon from the left called “Map Layers”.

There you have the option of viewing satellite maps, marine charts, or shaded-relief layers.

Wind direction and speed tell you a lot about where you should fish.

Depending on the strength of the wind, you may choose to fish in it or choose to fish a protected shoreline.

To check the tides, click the third icon down on the right-hand side of your screen.

The nearest tide stations will appear on your screen.

You can further click into each tide station to reveal even more information.

We calculate a “Strike Score” every day to determine levels of success on given days factoring in the wind, weather, etc.

As you keep scrolling, you then will see the tides and weather.

To view the map in even more detail, click on the Map Layers button again.

At the top of the little pop-up menu, you will see two buttons labeled “Oyster Beds” and “Sea Grass”.

With the click of a button, you can see where these sought-after structures are.

Seagrass will show up in green and Oyster Beds will appear in white.

This is another tool that shrinks down your search for a fishing spot and makes it even easier for you to find the 90/10 zone.

Moreover, the Marine Chart layer is favorable for navigation both nearshore and offshore.

The Shaded Relief (3D) Layer is a virtual underwater view of the bottom.

You can see the very fine detail of each bottom contour and the structure beneath the surface.

Smart Fishing Spots is accessible both on your desktop and your smartphone.

Additionally, you can save your routes and track your trip to go back and analyze later or save for future trips if you found fish.

Everything you save in Smart Fishing Spots is under your Insider Member login and all information will be saved there no matter if you are on a desktop or your phone.

Smart Spots Feature

Smart Spots literally shows you the best fishing spots in any area.

Our Fishing Coaches have pre-programmed spots in Smart Fishing Spots.

Each spot is advantageous at different times, so as time moves, so does the quality of each spot.

Hourly, these spots will change from “Poor” to “Good” to “Great” based on the data in Smart Fishing Spots.

I get confused with the depth color, light color for deeper water seems backwards to me. But I will adjust. So glad you mentioned it because I was looking at it from the opposite view point. Thank you!

I have looked everywhere for the app to download, and I cannot find it. I am an existing member so any help would be appreciated. From the conversations it sounds like an awesome tool.
