Check out the video to see a trout inhale the Salt Strong Moonwalker!!
Early summer mornings are perfect for some topwater action.
I wouldn’t leave the house without a Moonwalker with me.
See this lure in action below!!
Trout Inhale The Salt Strong Moonwalker [VIDEO]
The Moonwalker is one of our proprietary lures here at Salt Strong.
The lure itself is in the Slam Shady color and also has two unique bite marks on the end of the lure.
These bite marks are designed to mimic those of a fish so if another fish comes along and sees a wounded baitfish, it would be more inclined to strike.
Also, these lures come pre-rigged with super strong and sturdy single inline hooks.
You do not have to swap out any invasive treble hooks using this lure.
Right now, you can actually head over to our online tackle shop and when you buy one of these lures, you get a second completely FREE.
In the spring, summer, and fall, my favorite time to throw topwater lures is first thing in the morning.
It can also be advantageous to fish these lures if you see a light ripple across the surface.

Awesome stuff, Tony! QQ, what leader strength were you using with the Moonwalker, and do you ever change it up based on the conditions?
Thanks Matt!
I was using 20#. If i’m targeting snook I will either bump up to at least 30lb or just add a short section of 30lb to the existing 20lb for abrasion resistance. Sometimes it can be better to just add a short 6″ section of heavier leader for snook. When the entire leader is too thick/heavy it can make it tougher to get the right action out of the lure.
Thanks Tony a bunch for the response! I’ve always struggled on when to go with 20lb vs 30lb, really great tip on using a leader extension and how 30lb could inhibit the right action on the lure. In the past I’ve been using 30lb out of fear of getting broken off but after seeing those trout you pulled in..full confidence that going lighter on leader is the move now, and still has options to beef up a small 30lb section closest to the lure without sacrificing action. Appreciate it!
No problem! Yep 20# is plenty for trout and redfish in open water. I’ve landed plenty of over slot reds and trout on 10lb braid with 20lb leader. If the water is very clear sometimes I will bump down to 15lb.
Tony,
Nice pair of specs! #2 was a real sow! Nice demo on the Moonwalker!
Nice ones for sure! Thanks Neal!
Seems like you’re working it pretty fast. I haven’t had a ton of luck with my moonwalker. Did get a snook yesterday but threw it 100+ times with bait everywhere.
With the water being a lil choppy I like to retrieve them a little more aggressively to help draw attention to it.
Hi Tony, I love these moonwalkers and they cast exceptionally well.
I like your boat and would like to know what the make/model is and specs..
Would appreciate it if you could let me know.
Thanks.
Thanks Norm!
It’s a 15’6 Gheenoe Classic. I have a 15hp Suzuki 4 stroke and a 55lb Minn Kota Riptide w/Copilot trolling motor on it. Runs nice and shallow and will float in about 4 inches of water.
I like the red head/white Heddon zara spook jr. up here in the area around Wilmington,NC to catch good sized trout early AM. it’s over by 8 AM. Then I switch to Gulp shrimp mostly pearl color for our big flounders and possibly a nice redfish.
Great color as well!
Nice video. Thanks.
Thanks Chuck!
