Hey wait just a min I thought only the hoss helix hooks are supposed to be used on the power prawn the picture of the trout at the beginning of the report does not look like the hoss helix hook what gives considering I just purchased almost 90 bucks worth in hooks on your site if I knew other hooks would work just as good I wouldn’t have wasted my money🤔😠

The Hoss Helix hooks are the best weighted hooks for fishing shallow water with these lures (3 ft or less)… especially if there is structure on the bottom.

For deeper water, these lures work with a variety of jig heads. The one shown in the picture above is from Zman.

Here’s a depth chart guide that shows the best rigging options we’ve found so far for our lures for each depth zone (green is best, and yellow is for an option that works well too): https://www.saltstrong.com/wp-content/uploads/Lure-Depth-Guide-Rigging-Links-fixed.pdf

OK thanks I guess I just get confused because you guys all seem to talk about the same jigheads and hooks I do remember the tutorial you sent me when I first bought the power prawns saying different twist lock hooks would work with them just not jigheads because I also remember you saying the football hoss helix hooks were the best for these lures that’s why I made the comment and today after work the tracking info said it will be delivered today gonna try them out under some docks this Fri night and see thanks for the update

I live in the Clearwater, FL area and when the trout are around (right now they are definitely NOT around), they will go after the Slam Shady or anything else. Trout are stupid. I have gone to areas over the last month where I can see the snook and I dangle the shrimp lure and they look at it but don’t bite. I think it has to do with the water temperature right now.

Curious was it prime time when they wouldn’t move ? Or the heat of the day ? Because I’ve discovered the same at the heat of the day , but came back at daylight/prime time ..and they bit then
