Snapper Island (What To Do On A Super High Tide On Tough Day) LIVE

http://snapper%20island

What should you do if it’s super quiet at high tide on a tough day?

Luke and I stuck with it and were able to pull out a few fish from some mangrove lines.

Sometimes it can be a bit intimidating to find fish on a flat with so much bait and so much water.

What lures and tactics are best for this fishing scenario?

Check it all out right here!!

Not a very slow day and nothing too crazy.

Nonetheless, staying on top of current trends and tactics helps you find a few fish during the slowest times of the day.

Make sure you have a few different lure presentations with you on every fishing trip!!

Luke, you said that you are like rigging the bomber on the 3/0 Hoss Hook. Why do you favor the 3/0 over the 4/0? It looks like the 4/0 would be a better fit.

Just a FYI..There’s a chance of getting Vibrio (flesh eating bacteria) while fishing. If you get stuck by a fish and the wound bleeds you can get the infection. Also from open wound and coming in contact with fish. Getting cut from handling a crab trap, etc. Usually occurs in the summer when the water temp is above 80 degrees. While it is rare in the Mid-atlantic area it does happen. You guys would probably be more susceptible in the south. Here’s an article you might find interesting. Vibrio Vulnificus Flesh Eating Bacteria dangers while fishing | Guide and Tips for Fishing and Hunting (texasriverdata.com) Same symptoms as the guy working on the AC. If not treated, you are usually dead in 2-3 days. Can also get it buy eating raw oysters. There’s a ton of info on the web about this.

Mark…I got it fishing near the pipes south of Nags Head Pier three hears ago. Water temps only need to be 68. 75% mortality if not treated early. 23 people in Hampton Roads/Outer Banks got it and my friend died. You don’t want to see the size syringes. I asked when they were bringing in the horse and their response was, “He just arrived!” One in each cheek every day for a week! Strongest antibiotic there is!

Regarding the potential of offering a Power Prawn Junior with a “chartreuse tail” there is a 4″ Bass Assassin Shad Assassin that is “Salt & Pepper Chartreuse Tail.” (Salt & Pepper is very close to Slam Shady in color.) According to arguably one of the best trout fisherman on the Outer Banks, “There have been more trout caught on that lure color than any other color.” My three citation trout were all caught on that color. While it doesn’t always work it is always worth trying. Most soft plastics catching larger trout on the OBX have a chartreuse tail. If offered in Slam Shady color with a chartreuse tail I’d like to try one. (Slam Shady 2.0 with a Chartreuse Tail would be a dynamite offering!)

Thanks for making time to post the great suggestion Kim! We’ll definitely have a slam shady body with a chartreuse tail once the multi-color mold is ready.
