I am new to saltwater fishing and it seems that at least one of the lures you use needs to be removed from the hook and placed back in its juicy packaging if it is going to be used again the next day. Otherwise it will dry out. I think I heard in this podcast that the new prawns can be left on your rod for fishing the next day, so presumably there is no problem with them drying out or having to keep them in some kind of juice. Is this correct?
Also, for those of us who only visit saltwater infrequently, what is the shelf life on the U.S.A. Prawns? I.E., if they become available and we purchase some from you but can’t use them for 6 months is there going to be any problem?

Is the new Power Prawn buoyant? Will it sit head down-tail up when dead sticked?

have you tried these new USA prawns to catch, grouper, Snappers, trigger fish and other guys offshore yet? It would be nice to see how they work and if they bring up the big ones too. I have been used to using cut bait and switching over to live bait when it gets slow and then back to cut bait again. So, I was wondering if they work just as well.

Hey guys, recent order of power prawns were actually a different color. The most recent ones look faded compared to a few earlier batches I received. Any noticeable changes in the process? Thanks

The TPE material they use is very tough to keep a consistent color, so it’s normal for the colors to be slightly different. I’ve had them range from almost clear to super faded, and they all seem to work equally well.

Does the new USA shrimp float like the Brazilian does?

The new USA power prawns will have a very slow sink rate to the point where it’ll stand on the bottom with the tail up when bouncing it along the bottom which helps it attract attention from the predators.

Exciting stuff !! Looking forward to giving them a try.. I have a couple questions..

Will they be available in different colors? Looking at the video at 22:53 it appears like a rootbeer color. At 22:58 it looks like a clear with specs. Just curious.

Will they come scented like the Slam Shady’s? If not will they have a pocket or hook slot where you could add the Dr Juice?

Thanks Guys

Yes, the Power Prawn USA lures will come in various colors. And it’ll have some scent in the material similar to the Slam Shady lures too.

As for Dr, Juice, it does such a good job sticking to lures that it doesn’t need a cavity. I even put it on metal spoons and it lasts for hours of use.

Which do you guys like better the prawn or the prawn Jr ?

Reply to  Mike Hamilton

Overall, I like the bigger one best because it weeds out many of the smaller fish. But for winter time, I gravitate more to the power prawn jr because the fish seem to prefer smaller profile lures when it’s cold.

Where can I find power prawn

Very cool! Will plastisol help with holding position on the Power Prawn jig heads or better to use a barbed jig head like trout eye?

Luke Simonds

Reply to  Tim McKinnon

For the plastisol lures, it’s essential to use jig heads with keepers. So there are many options to use for these upcoming lures since most jig heads have keepers on them.
