A couple of weeks ago, I caught the biggest trout of my life!

On this particular trip, Insider Member Wes Hall and I set out to target redfish and trout in a familiar spot.
This is one of our favorite late spring/early summer fishing spots.
Lately, we have seen lots of fish off the intracoastal up against shorelines rummaging around in extremely shallow water.
After the fish came up to swallow my lure and then shot out on a quick run, I instinctually thought I had a redfish on the end of my line.
Not until the fish came a bit closer was I able to identify it.
GIANT MONSTER TROUT!!!
Coming in at 27.5″, this is now my new Personal Best Speckled Trout!
What might come as even more of a surprise is the next species I hooked into on the Corky was a flounder!!
A short while after I was able to reel in a smaller redfish to complete the inshore slam.

Conclusion
I can’t remember many trout fishing days as great as that one!
From Corky lures to Paddletails, everything was working that day.
As we transition from late spring into early summer, it is critical to stay on top of current trends!!

I tried to find the “Corky” lure but all I found was the popping cork. Am I looking in the wrong place?
It’s nicknamed the “Corky” but in our shop we use it’s actual name, the Paul Brown Fat Boy!
