It was an INSANE weekend full of fun, laughs, and crushing redfish with fellow YouTubers and Salt Strong Fishing Coaches!!
Down in Aripeka, Florida, we held a Salt Strong Affiliate Event for fishing YouTube and content creators to get together and film some amazing content for EVERYONE.

Equipment Used:
- Rod: Slot Machine Prototype – Medium Power
- Reel: Daiwa Legalis 2500
- Line: 10 lb J-Braid 8 Grand
- Leader: 20 lb Ande Monofilament
- Scent: Dr. Juice Inshore Slam Scent
- Lure: Slam Shady 2.0 rigged on Hoss Helix 3/0 with 1/8 oz.

The waters we were fishing down in Aripeka were new to us and we later found out it is QUITE rocky on the bottom.
We first aimed to set ourselves up to fish creek mouths and drains emptying out after a high tide.
Redfish like to stage in these areas to wait for easy meals.
The fish were very jumpy and skittish to the point that jerk shads were evening spooking them off.
I made the switch to a swimbait so all I would have to do is straight retrieve and wait for a bite.
Later on in the day, the darker clouds and rainstorms got closer and closer and it was time to pack it up and head back.
But, we were very shallow and unfamiliar with the area.
So as we slowly backed out to deeper water, I figured I toss a cast out and ended up hooking into a decent trout.
Conclusion
We made it back before the storm hit and only hit ONE rock on the way in!
The Slam Shady 2.0 rigged on a 3/0 Hoss Helix Hook got the most action and triggered the most strikes on this trip in a new area with unfamiliar structures.
