How To Find Launch Spots For Your Kayak Or Paddleboard The Easy Way

Want to easily find kayak launches close to your fishing spot?

When I’m looking to fish in a new area, I’ll first look for an area that holds fish.

Once I’ve found a good spot, my next task is to find somewhere that I can safely launch my kayak.

It can be tricky, but there are two ways that I’ve found to make this process a lot easier.

I’ll share them both with you in this video.

Enjoy!

The first place I go to look for kayak launches is https://paddling.com/paddle/locations/

I zoom in to where I’d like to fish and then I’ll check to see if there are any nearby launches.

If I find a launch that looks good, I’ll usually use Google maps and use the street view feature to double-check the area.

If there are no launches on Paddling.com, then I’ll usually just go straight to Google maps.

By looking for gaps in trees near shorelines and sandy or grassy banks, then using street view, I can often find unmarked launches.

Also, I wanted to be sure to mention that we’re not affiliated with either of these sites, I just wanted to share some resources that I’ve found helpful!

Using Paddling.com and Google Maps are great ways to find new kayak launches.

I use these sites for just about every trip when I explore a new spot and they’ve helped me out a lot!
