This sneaky hack will increase the amount of fish you catch per lure saving you time and money.
First, we need to think about the specific zones of the lure that get torn up by the jighead hook shank.
Barbs and lure keepers on jigheads tear and carve up the inside of soft plastic lures over time.
We want to make sure we are purposeful in where exactly the lure is tearing.
The objective is to preserve what plastic is actually keeping your lure on the jighead.
To begin, rig your lure as normal by inserting the hook point in the head of the lure and through the body.
Then, expose the hook like you normally would when rigging up any soft plastic.
Stop just before the barbs or lure keepers slide into the lure.
Instead of continuing the rigging of the lure as normal, turn the jighead 90-degrees to the side.
Then, push the barbs or keepers through the head of the lure and into the body.
This way we are creating a tear in the lure in a different axis that is not active while working the lure.
Once you get the lure all the way on the jighead, simply twist the jighead into place.
Now, you will have no tears in the lure between the keeper barb and the head of the jighead which is most important.
The plastic in between the keeper and jighead is intact and solid which will keep your lure in place on the jighead.
This simple hack will for sure save you money and help you get the most out of your soft plastic lures!

I just watched the Surgeon knot demo, looks easy enough. My question is “ what is the difference between the Surgeon and the blood knot?” Both are used to join two lines together ..
Those are two of many different knots that can be used to connect two lines… both are good knots.
