Well Luke you say your go to fish to catch is trout if you just want to catch something mine Is flounder but unfortunatly long after the mullet will be leaving will flounder season in the state if Florida be open again closed on the 15th of Oct and doesn’t reopen until the 1 Dec and I know it doesn’t matter about closed seasons for you guys because you release all your fish well I dont I’m a fish eater but as far as livebait that you talked about im horrible with it terrible with a cast net and don’t have the patience to go after it whatever it may be and to me when one fishes with livebait they are not finding the fish but instead hoping the fish will find them kinda like deer hunting sitting in one spot till you see a deer hoping it’s a buck but in fishing it’s hoping the fish will come your way and either see or smell your bait or both so it will hit well thats boring my father tried teaching me the old school way of live bait for freshwater in mich smallmouth bass but I never caught on (no pun intended) but then I taught him how to catch smallies and northern pike and crappies (aka speckled perch as they are called in the south) all using a white 4 inch mister twister curly tail grub with a white quarter ounce jighead I learned how to use jigs and crankbaits and plastic worms as well as spinnerbaits from watching and talking to the bass anglers that used to fish in the lake I lived on and those skills carried over to the inshore saltwater scene but yes I have been a member with saltstrong since 2017 and a life member since 2018 best inshore club there is in my view anyways thanks for the info and all you do😉👍
