It’s unboxing time!

We rarely do unboxing videos, but today I’ve got a unique product that caught my eye.

I’ve received several questions asking for more information about travel rods, so I picked up one of these Toadfish 3-piece travel rods.

Now the really cool thing about this rod is that it comes with multiple pieces, so you can customize the power and action.

Check out the video below to see Otis and I unboxing it!

I love the fact that you can customize this rod.

It has two mid pieces that provide medium or medium-heavy power, and two tips that provide fast or moderate fast action.

I haven’t tried it on the water yet, so I can’t speak for how well this translates to real performance, but the idea is awesome.

It’s also got a sturdy travel case that you can take to the airport or on the road with you.

I’m really excited about this rod!

I’ll definitely be putting it to the test and making some videos about how well this multi-functionality rod actually performs on the water, so be sure to keep an eye out for those upcoming videos!

Have you used it?

I need some tips on repairing a broken rod. This was a nightmare and I ended up with a 7’2″ Toadfish rod that had 2″ broken off the tip. I had only used it once. What would be the best way to fix this

Nice looking Rod. One tip I’ve learned some time ago on multi-piece rods, especially my fly rods. Once all put together and perfectly aligned, I get a bottle of my wife’s nail polish and put a dot on each piece next to the joints to make aligning much faster and easier next time. Just align the dots and perfect.

Good to know this is available. I have an Okuma travel rod with two tip sections so this is a step beyond that. Looking forward to learn how it casts.

That’s a pretty nifty little package! Never seen a “customizable” setup like this! Might have to grab one myself!

It is pretty nice, but if worked enough it starts to come loose a little bit.(like 2hours of almost non stop twitches)
