Luke, I recently watched the video. You mention 2500 reel ok unless high current. What do you consider high current? For example > 2mph?
If an average human can’t swim into the current, I consider that current to be fast.
I really enjoyed this video on fishing tackle you guys don’t buy anymore. I am interested in the next report you mentioned for members. Where is it located?

I have been a member for over a year now, I have learned so much from Luke and Joe and all the fishing guides, I have seen a couple of your post, I really don’t appreciate how do you think these “young bucks” no more than you, they offer a moneyback guarantee, I join his club because it’s anglers helping other anglers, I love salt strong, You just seem like a very negative person/angry person, I think you just get your money back, good luck tight lines ✌️
How do you apply Dr.Juice? From videos I seen you just squirt a couple drops on a couple sides and let it run down the sides….that is what I do. But one video..think it was “Bama beach bum “ he rubbed it all over with his fingers. Does it make any difference?
Sunscreen: aerosol also burns the heck out of your skin. It also degrades with heat so if you leave it in your boat like I used to it works like baby oil and you get burned worse.
Great podcast!!
Great Podcast, very informative as always.
You mentioned that you no longer use bug baits for bass fishing, I’m curious what are your favorites for largemouth bass fishing and favorites for Stripe bass fishing.

Unless I feel its pertinent to my fishing catching skills and knowledge I usually dont listen to your usually very long podcasts but was surprised while just browsing the info given you say you dont buy gulp products anymore I find that hard to believe considering the effectiveness that gulp scented baits have on attracting fish some but not all the lures you guys promote and use I’m not to find of the one that always comes to mind is your moonwalker topwater plug I find it very lacking in appropriate action while it looks like the identical twin to the spook jr the action and sound it produces is far poorer in comparison now I know you guys do catch fish on them because I see all your posts and videos but I’m just talking about what I experienced after buying a couple and trying them and when I do say these things its ALWAYS my own experience I have been fishing topwaters for about 20 years now so I think I know what I’m doing but hey its fishing and nothing is perfect and there is always another opinion in the mix about anything discussed or experienced but not buying the gulp products anymore I find that odd all I know is here in northeast Florida where the water is murky I use gulp baits alot on my spinnerbaits and my jigs in murky water you need flash scent and sound to do the best in attracting game fish unlike where most saltstrong anglers are in central and south Florida where unless a red tide has gone through the area or an algae bloom your water is primarily gin clear all year long totally different then hear where most of the time the visibility in the water is maybe 5ft at best so you can see what I mean but maybe thats why you dont buy them anymore because scent where you guys fish is just not as important as where I fish🤔😉👍
I don’t use Gulp baits here in southwest Florida just because they can get pretty expensive. It definitely works, but I find that other soft plastics combined with the Dr. Juice Saltwater Slam scent works great as well but most importantly is also more cost effective. It also allows me to just not use the scent if I don’t want to smell like a tackle box the next day.
Yea but like I said your in a much different location with totally different structure as well as water clarity while your in gin clear water south Florida my water here in northeast florida is murky with about a 5 ft visibility at best about 85 percent of the year so where you guys have to make long casts so as not to spook the fish my average cast I make here is about 25 ft and I catch alot of fish and while you guys down there use alot of natural colored baits I have found dark baits and ones with chartruese work well here and any kind of bait with flash and rattle are better then quiet silent ones in factfor reds and flounder both my favorite bait after the topwater bite is done is a safety pin style spinnerbait kinda like the redfish magic and others out there but I make my own by switching different plastics and blades but I always use alot of scent and the gold flash of the blades as well as the vibration of the blade and paddletail coupled with the visible chartruese tail is very deadly around oysrers and grasslines w pockets and under docks as well but if you tried it there where you fish and live the fish would probably be very spooked and it would probably not work but all I know is it sure does for me😉👍
This past year I discovered how terrible sunscreen products can be for you, your boat, your tackle and the environment. I began using a sunblock called Reelers Friend and I was happily amazed at difference between sunscreen and sunblock. I have only used this one brand so I am uncertain as to any ranking of the quality or the price when comparing to other brands but get sunblock.
This is life life saving info for many, and they may not even realize it.
You mentioned the benefits of mono over fluoro when it comes to being abrasion resistant but have you done an underwater visibility comparison. I use fluoro mainly for its low visibility qualities and don’t want to sacrifice that quality you find in fluoro. Your thoughts about abrasion resistance versus low line visibility. Which would you prefer to have ?
I switched back and forth from mono to fluoro for a couple years and didn’t see a noticeable difference in the amount or size of the fish I caught, so I eventually just switched to regular mono for my leaders and haven’t looked back… even when going down to the Keys where the water is very clear.
